ANASTASIA MOROZOVA ── ANA KIRIGAN clung to the shadows for comfort and safety. Becoming her only friend, the shadows knew her secrets, and they kept them. With many secrets she needed to bury amongst the stars, Anastasia ran from her brother and the merge ceremony. Going from existing in the shadows of her own flesh and blood to playing a game of cat and mouse, Anastasia suffered under the weight of her Small Science. Her brother, the General of the Second Army, wanted her power ── He wanted to be an almighty Saint. But she couldn't let him. Anastasia knew if Aleksander obtained more shadows, he'd be unstoppable. And so, she ran in the middle of the night from the Little Palace. And with help of the Conductor, she crosses the Fold, heading into Ketterdam where she meets the Crows; a group who might just be able to help keep her safe.
