Now, it was no secret that BigHit had a history of pretty much only debuting and having boy groups or BTS, hence for much of her idol career, Seo never really had any fellow female idols to interact with at the company. However, after BigHit expanded into HYBE and acquired several other entertainment labels like Pledis and Source, Seo finally had some idol sisters to spill hella tea to, namely Gfriend and Fromis 9. Though, after the whole disbandement debacle at Source (author-nim still won't forgive them the way they did it) and Fromis 9 having extremely busy schedules and promotions, Seo was once again left as basically the sole female idol regularly at HYBE during 2021. But, things were about to change drastically.

The girl group landscape in 2022 was a fucking battlefield. You had juggernauts IVE who came out guns blazing at the end of 2021, the immensely popular Kep1er formed by Mnet's variety show Girls Planet 99 and the girl group giant JYP's newest star rookies NMIXX both of whom debuted in early 2022. Add on the already established 4th gen bigshots like ITZY and Aespa as well as the international sensations of the third gen (too many to list, author-nim is lazy), to say the market was already saturated with talent would be like telling Seo she was popular, no shit sherlock. 

Yet, despite all this, HYBE decided to yolo it and debut not one, but two absolute monster rookie groups, all in 2022. First came Le Sserafim, which despite being plagued by a massive scandal during their debut resulting in the loss of a member (what a wild time that was) came out literally swinging and flooring everyone with their charisma and performances. Then came Newjeans, the new darlings of South Korea who with the combined genius of an innovative marketing strategy and appealing music, energy and choreographies broke records left and right like nobody's business. Whilst us fans were fawning over HYBE's new girl groups, Seo was also fawning over HYBE's new girl groups, just not in the way you or I were.

To put it bluntly, Seo was fucking excited. She has always been the youngest, no matter if that was amongst her siblings, extended family or in BTS. Therefore, although she got spoiled a little as the youngest, she never got to have the opportunity to be able to take on the big sister/brother role. However, with the creation of Le Sserafim and Newjeans, a holy opportunity presented itself to Seo, an opportunity which Seo took and ran with.

Seo first introduced herself to the Le Sserafim girls after their Antifragile comeback due to Seo's very busy schedules before this period. She reconnected with Sakura and Chaewon and forged new sisterly bonds with Yunjin, Kazuha and Eunchae. She also secretly formed a motherly alliance with Sakura, Chaewon and Yunjin to protect Kazuha and Eunchae at all costs, especially Manchae. 

Her meeting with Newjeans went slightly differently, as the freshly debuted group (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) was immediately starstruck by seeing one of their biggest role models in the flesh. Seo herself had trouble holding back squeals about how cute they were and absolutely adored them even though she literally had just got to know them for about 3 minutes.

After meeting both groups of gals, Seo set out to make it her mission to become the best unofficial mom for both groups, where she would regularly give out career advice, how to navigate the pesky norms and customs of the idol industry as well as teaching them certain life lessons she had learned along her journey with BTS. But, there were somethings that Seo wanted to pass on to the girls that Jin may have advised her against doing, but knowing the broad-shouldered alpacca was going to the military soon where he couldn't interfere with her plans for at least a year, Seo on the surface agreed with her own unofficial mom (Jin that is) but beneath the surface was going to carry out her agenda anyways.
