The drop of blood bobbed around in the air. Dave stared at it intensely, watching it's every move. Karkat watched it casually, his expression almost bored.

"Dude.." Dave tugged off his shades, holding them in his lap to get a better look. "I've seen some crazy shit in this place, but. Wow."

Karkat made the little drop rotate, and it suddenly turned flat. "Oh, I can cut people with blood, too." He said, wiggling his eyebrows at Dave.

Dave leaned back a little, holding his hands up in front of him. "Woah, woah now, don't do demonstrating that on me." Karkat chuckled and the blob turned back to a circle, spinning around a little.

"That's some freaky stuff, man." Dave marveled at it, finding the ability much more fascinating that that of anyone he'd seen at the school.

Karkat laughed, looking at Dave as the drop hovered. He focused on Dave's blood flow, and suddenly Dave's face turned a deep red, the blood running to his cheeks and making them hot.

Dave made a strange distressed noise at the sudden feeling, pressing his hands to his cheeks. "Karkat don't do that, oh my god, please." He didn't know what the other was trying to get at. Was he just showing off what he could do? Or was he trying to embarrass him somehow? If that was the case, it was working, but Dave couldn't react very much. After all, he was already blushing.

Karkat grinned, letting Dave's blood flow normally. He still blushed, just naturally, and not as deep. "Jeez, people use their powers on each other here all the time, but that's definitely something I've never experienced before." He quickly shoved his shades back on.

"Awh, but you look so cute when you blush, Davey." Karkat chuckled a little, his voice a bit of a higher pitch.

What? Did he just say that? That was a drastic change in persona if Dave had ever seen one. "Ex-fucking-scuse me?" His eyebrows raised as he tilted his head at the other.

Karkat still grinned like an idiot, swirling the drop around in the air. "Quite adorable."

Dave was still flustered. Was this really the same kid that was telling him to piss off minutes earlier? "Okay, no. I am not 'adorable', thats totally not an acceptable adjective in this situation."

"Of course it's acceptable! Well, at least when you blush like that." Karkat shrugged, smiling.

Dave shook his head, looking to the side. Not that you'd be able to tell, as his shades hid most emotion he had. "Nah. That's gay."

Karkat's expression changed drastically, as he now cocked an eyebrow at Dave and squinted. "Wow, really?"

Dave shrugged. "Yeah, man."

"Hmn." Karkat smirked a little. He flicked his finger up and Dave suddenly felt a heat rush into his cheeks, his face turing a deep red. "Good to know."

"Hey!" Dave shivered a little at the sudden feeling, ducking his head and pulling his shirt over his face. "Cut it out!"

The auburn giggled a little, holding his blood for another moment before letting it flow normally. Dave let go of his shirt, glaring up at Karkat under his shades. "Not cool, bro."

Karkat wiggled his eyebrows at Dave, smiling. This was definitely a change in personality. "What is with you all of a sudden?"

Karkat's smile faded to a neutral grin and he shrugged. "Focusing on someone's blood helps to block out all the other heartbeats."

"Couldn't you just focus on, like, your own?" Dave raised an eyebrow under his shades, still glaring.

Karkat nodded up towards the blood drop spiraling in the air. "Oh, right. Well you could at least warn me before you do anything else to me."
