Valentines had not long gone by and I had felt quite lonely. This year I had spent it alone, as my boyfriend of two years had decided to break up with me. I had no idea why he had decided this or what made him do so but I was done with him.
All of my friends had previously warned me about him and I couldn't help but ignore them as I felt as though someone had actually loved me. They had all roughly forgiven me for this however and they we already trying to find me a new boyfriend. I didn't mind this, I had wanted a new one. One of my best friends Nick had suggested I dated one of his friends - yeah no. They were the kinds of boys that forget your birthday or something and I did not want to go through that again.
"Yeah no, they don't seem like they'd be nice boyfriends." I admitted shrugging my shoulders.
"Well what would you say a nice boyfriend does?" He asks looking over at me waiting for an answer.
"They buy you flowers?" I guessed as that was the only thing I could think of at that time.
"What kind of flowers?"
"Whatever ones they think matches their girlfriend." He raised his eyebrows at my response and we turned away from each other engaging in different conversations.I sat down at my desk the next day to find a bouquet of pink roses which I had recently revealed to my best friend, Charlie, we're my favourite. "Did you get me these?" I ask smiling and turning to look at him. "No but by the look on your face I should of." He says placing his phone down on the desk and smiling back at me. "Who then?" I ask holding the flowers and looking down at them. He just turned back around and smiled grabbing his phone off of the desk once again. He appeared to be messaging someone and I tried to sneak a peak at who it was however I couldn't see a name.

"Who are you messaging?" I ask wanting to know who this mystery person is when I was interrupted by a stranger practically running through the doorway. It was Nick and he looked like he had just got back from rugby. "Jeez stop rushing it's not like you're going to miss something important." I said still keeping my eyes on the flowers. "I nearly did." He replies and sits down in the chair next to mine. I smile at the flowers wonder who gave them to me, and what could have gave Nick Nelson the confidence to give me flowers.
