Thor looks around "You speak of control, yet you court chaos." he says. "That's his M.O., isn't it? I mean, what are we a team? No, we're a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We're a time bomb." Bruce states. "You need to step away." Nick tells him. "Why shouldn't the guy let off a little steam?" Tony says putting a hand on Steve's shoulder who knocks his hand away.

"You know damn well why. Back off!" Steve says. "I'm starting to want you to make me." Tony responds. "Yeah. Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?" Steve spoke.

"Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist." Tony replies, and well he had a point. "I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. I've seen the footage. The only thing you really fight for is yourself. You're not the guy to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you." Steve states.

"I think I would just cut the wire." Tony responds. "Always a way out. You know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero." Steve says.

"A hero? Like you? You're a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle."

Steve scoffs "Put on the suit. Let's go a few rounds." he says and Thor laughs. "You people are so petty, and tiny."

"Yeah, this a team." Bruce states.

"Agent Romanoff, would you escort Dr. Banner to his..." Nick starts but Bruce cuts him off.

"Where? You rented my room." Bruce says.

"The cell was just in case..."

"In case you needed to kill me. But you can't. I know, I tried. I got low. I didn't see an end. So, I put a bullet in my mouth, and the other guy spit it out. So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good. Until you dragged me back into this freak show and put everyone here at risk. You wanna know my secret, Agent Romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?" Bruce says causing Nick, Natasha and Y/N to put their hands on each of their weapons.

"Dr. Banner, put down the scepter." Steve says and Bruce looks at the scepter in his hand. The computer beeps "Got it." Tony says. "Sorry, kids, you don't get to see my party trick after all." Bruce states. "You located the Tesseract?" Thor asks.

"I could get there fastest." Tony says.

"The Tesseract belongs on Asgard. No human is a match for it." Thor speaks. "You're not going alone." Steve tells Tony. "You gonna stop me?" he says back. "Put on the suit, let's find out."

"I'm not afraid to hit an old man." Tony says.

"Put on the suit."

The computer starts beeping rapidly "Oh, my God." Bruce says before an explosion throwing everything and everyone. "Put on the suit." Steve states. "Yeah." Tony responds before the two run out of the lab. Y/N landed somewhere off away from everyone else as she lies on the floor she breathes heavily before eventually standing up slowly.

"Somebody's got to get outside and patch that engine." Y/N hears Maria speak into the comms. "Stark, you copy that?" Nick spoke.

"Copy that." Tony replies.

"Coulson, initiate defensive lockdown in the detention section, then get to the armory."

"Romanoff? L/N?"

"I'm good." Y/N speaks.

"We're okay." Y/N hears Natasha respond as she referred to herself and Bruce.

As Y/N makes her way to the top of the ship she doesn't see or anything. Not soon after she sees someone sitting on the floor against the wall. As she gets closer she realizes that it was Coulson. "Coulson?" she says and he slowly turns his head in her direction.

Y/N runs over to him and crouches down to his level. "Phil?" she exclaims and he turns his head slowly in her direction. "What happened?!?" Y/N asks as Coulson's breathing becomes more staggered as she tried to stop the bleeding. "Loki." Phil replies wincing and subconsciously, so does Y/N.

"Don't worry, I'm gonna get help and you're gonna be okay." Y/N assures as she to turn and leave but Phil stops her. "Don't worry about me Y/N, this was never gonna work if they didn't have something to..." Y/N looks down at the blood on her hands and back at Coulson, giving his hand a gentle squeeze before leaving, even though she hated to.

...

Back on the bridge Y/N sits at the table with Tony and Steve as Fury stands. "These were in Phil Coulson's jacket. I guess he never did get you to sign these." Nick says tossing the bloodied trading cards on the table. "We're dead in the air up here. Our communications, the location of the Cube. Banner, Thor... I got nothing for you. I lost my one good eye. Maybe I had that coming." Nick says and there was silence.

"Yes, we were going to build an arsenal with the Tesseract. I never put all my chips on that number, though, because I was playing something even riskier. There was an idea, Stark knows this, called the Avengers Initiative. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable people, to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to fight the battle that we never could." Nick says before looking in the direction of Y/N who was still sort of spaced out due to what recently happened.

"Phil Coulson died still believing in that idea. In heroes." Nick continues before Tony stands from the seat he was in and leaving. "Well, it's an old fashioned notion." Fury states and Y/N sighs before standing and going off in the direction he went in.
