The flight is long enough I make a big dent in From Blood and Ash, why haven't I read this before? It's amazing! Dominick read over my shoulder most of the way, so he's invested too.
"Did you know a t.v. show is coming out?" He asks checking his phone as we land.
"No!" I squeal! "It's going to be amazing!"
Jeremy turns to look at us, more specifically me, "Dude you are so loud."
I grin and unbuckle to kiss his sexy face. "Sorry this book is just so good!"
He accepts the kiss, and the door is opened, bright light streams in from the runway lights. We've arrived on a quiet private landing strip. The wave of humid heat hits me, making me choke.
"Damn, I've never been in this kind of humidity," I wave away Koen's worried gaze. "I've never left Cali before."
"Then you're in for a treat." Vlad grins over at me from the other side of where our group has gathered.
We take a dark van with no windows to a ritzy hotel, a second van follows behind us with the wine. The men rush me to the elevator not wanting to be seen, and press the button with a lock code for the penthouse.
The elevator opens straight to the penthouse, there's a group of vampires in the living room, but it's the whole room that takes my breath away. Everything is white marble, with blue accents, and huge windows where you can see the ocean and the city, it's stunning.
"Welcome!" A man with an Irish accent greets us, he's like a more chic version of Mr. Von Don. With red hair, freckles, pale skin, but that's where the similarities stop. This man has nearly black hungry eyes, and wheres so much white he blends into the room.
Jack reaches over to shake the man's hand, "Oliver, thank you for having us."
Oliver takes Jack's offered hand shaking it, but his dark eyes are on me. "And who's your new pet?"
"Our maid and companion, Miss Mooney." Forest drawls.
I wrinkly my nose at companion, but I suppose it's an accurate description at the moment. I make a move to extend my hand, but a stick thin blonde female vampire sashays up to me. "Isn't she the cutest," She purrs, a blood red nail lifting me chin.
"She has no trouble speaking." I say stepping away from the woman.
Oliver bursts out laughing wrapping an arm around the woman, "Pay no mind to Mindra, she just gets possessive over her ex's." He smirks. The distaste for her must show on my face because he chuckles.
"Now now, don't be judging them too harshly for sampling other goods." He snags my arm lowering us onto a sofa.
"How is the new batch?" Mindra asks Henry.
Henry turns on his devilish smirk, "It's fantastic even the humans love it." He pointedly doesn't look my way.
She looks irritated, "You fed the food some of their own? How despicable." She purrs, with an evil smile.
"Well then bring us a bottle." Oliver says.
I jump up rushing the crates that were just unloaded. "You don't need to serve, I have my own people for that." Oliver says with a grin appearing in front of me. He leads me back to the sofa, Bridger pulls me on top of his lap.
"We were joking," He whispers in my ear, "You're just here for fun."
I look at my men puzzled, "Oh. In that case, I'd love a vodka soda." I grin a little evilly at Mindra.
Mindra snaps her fingers summoning staff from somewhere who serves the vampires first then me. I'm not offended at being served last, their hierarchy makes sense, and this is the best vodka soda I've ever had.
Mindra and Oliver sip their wine for a moment, eyes closed. Oliver claps when he's finished his glass, "Well that was wonderful. We'll take the whole pallet and get a weekly order ready." He clasps his hands in front of himself looking at me hungrily again.
"What are your plans for the rest of the evening?"
Koen smile is full of fang warning Oliver to back off, "We're taking Miss Mooney to the beach then out for some Cuban cuisine."
I grin, so delighted that my men listened to me, and thrilled to try new food.
