24 Years Later.....
Venice, Italy
Sitting outside a cafe there sits a woman with a book in one hand and a spoon in the other stirring her coffee. You would think she is innocent with the way her white dress ends at her knees and the fact that she bounces her leg out of habit but innocence should never be associated with someone like her. She acts as if she is looking for someone with the way her eyes occasionally peer over the top of her book, her sunglasses hiding the bored look in her eye.
Her eyes drift to the water fountain in the middle of the courtyard where a young girl and her father are making a wish with a penny the father pulled from his pocket. Jealousy swims in her covered eyes as she remembers that she was never given the chance to have that kind of father-daughter bond.
She realizes that she is getting off task and once again fixes her gaze on the book she definitely wasn't actually reading. Taking a deep breath, she focuses on her mission, watching the man. The man who just walked past her table and into the coffee shop. A scoff leaves her lips as she lights a cigarette.
"Men. Too predictable" She takes a few drags when she stands up then throws the cigarette to the ground putting it out with one of her red heels. Before moving into the cafe she picks up her bag and out of the corner of her eye she sees movement. She quickly turns towards the direction of the movement and sees a man peeking around the corner of the building with a smirk. "Calum." She grumbles with disgust and annoyance at the sight of the familiar face not far behind the blue-haired man seeing the older blonde not far behind him with a matching smirk on his face. The two men meet the gaze of the female before the smirks turn into stone-cold expressions knowing that they also were not the only ones who had heard of the men's secrets that he holds. Now from the perspective of a bystander, the man would look like a normal everyday person getting his coffee but looks can be more deceiving than meets the eye. His gang is known for keeping the biggest stash of illegal drugs known to be in Italy and every other gang wants it. He is on the top of everyone's hit lists. Now you are probably wondering who this man is. His name is Lorenzo Russo and his gang is the only still-standing enemy that every mafia has in common.
Seeing the two men moving into position knowing she would have to do something before they messed up everything she had been working on for months, and she would be damned if they were the two people that would outdo her. Moving swiftly towards the door of the random cafe trying to get into the doors before the two men had a chance. Suddenly she was pulled off to the side of the building, her back hitting the wall with force looking up and seeing the one person she hoped not to see again for a very long time.
"Well if it isn't mother dearest, shining star. I didn't think I would see you again, at least in this position." the blonde man said with an everlasting smirk almost as if it was etched into his face. The rapid breathing of the woman becomes noticeable to him as her chest moves up and down and her gaze is fixed on his eyes. Their faces just inches away brings back so many memories; memories that hold sadness. "What Amore? Do I make you nervous?" he whispers into her ear with a devilish grin.
Amore gains her confidence back and pushes the sadness she felt to the back of her mind and scoffs in the man's face making him move his head back as a reflex.
"Oh please, Michael. You are one of the last people that I am nervous around." Stunned by her words Michael moves back, releasing Amore from being trapped against the wall. " Now we should really get in there before Calum causes a scene and makes a fool of himself." she stares blankly at the man in front of her.
"What makes you think that I would listen to you? Calum is perfectly capable of pulling off this task." Michael crosses his arms but comedic timing is on Amore's side when they both hear a woman shrieking from inside.
In a hurry, both Amore and Michael rush inside the cafe to see what the issue was, and low and behold Calum is there standing in front of a woman with hot coffee spilled down the front of her nice blouse. Calum holding the empty cup looking frightened. The cafe is silent. Everyone has their eyes on the cause of the disruption. Calum.
"Fuck, I told you now look he has busted both our missions." Amore crosses her arms over her chest and Michael can practically see the steam coming out of her ears.
"He busted our missions? No, you messed this up you aren't even supposed to be here! You have no business being in gang activity. God, women always fuck up tasks." Michael was whisper yelling his whole rant to not draw attention to them. He then stands up straight and Calum is looking at him with an expressionless face but if looks could kill Michael would have been dead. Amore's glare never left the side of Michael's face as he continued to look at Calum. There was nothing that made Amore more furious than a man being a misogynistic asshole. She swallows down the urge of wanting the chew Michael out and looks towards Lorenzo among the small crowd of people in the cafe. He is already looking at her with an unsettling smirk as if he knew he won this time. Once he knew that he was seen, he grabbed his coffee from the counter beside him and slipped out the side door.
Calum said nothing as he swiftly exits the shop and Michael follows. Amore is still trying to take deep breaths and control her anger but she decides she can't let Michael have the last laugh. She calmly walks out the same door that they left through and finds them on the side of the building where Michael had pushed Amore against the wall earlier Her heels clicking against the stone pavement under her feet announcing her presence to the two men.
"You know Michael you haven't changed one bit." Amore slowly walks towards the two and both of them are silent. " Never taking responsibility for your mistakes." She continues and pulls out a cigarette from her purse and lighting it. "I thought you would have grown up by now." Finally reaching where the men stood she blows her cigarette smoke in Michael's face. Calum watched Amore with hungry and lustful eyes while Michael seemed unphased by her actions but in all honesty he was dying inside from not being able to show his longing for her.
No one spoke.
There was just silence as Amore took another drag from the cancer stick.
"Anyway, it was a pleasure seeing you Calum, don't worry you'll get him next time." She said in a condescending tone leaving Calum stunned and unable to speak. She then handed her cigarette to him and he took it still being rendered silent. She then turned to Michael and whispered in his ear like he had done to her earlier. "sei un po' eccitato mikey. Magari la prossima volta." (You're a little excited Mikey. Maybe next time.) She looks down at the very noticeable erection and looks back up placing a kiss on Michael's cheek leaving a red lipstick stain behind. Those were Amore's last words before she turns around and walks away making sure to sway her hips. Calum waits for the sound of her red heels clicking to fade away before speaking.
"What happened between you two? She's way too hot for you man." Calum lets out a laugh that causes Michael to snap his head in Calum's direction after watching Amore walk away until he could no longer see her.
"Not your biggest worry right now Hood. You have to explain to the boss why Lorenzo's blood isn't on our hands when we get back." Michael said cooly, Not happy with how today's events played out but now he wasn't only frustrated with Calum for making a mess of their task. He was frustrated with himself for letting Amore enter his thoughts again.
