There was at least a minute of awkward dead silence as Zim processed what Dib just said.
Getting the parts to fix his ship. And in exchange... "What?" Zim asked slowly, his voice felt sharp despite being calm.
"You heard me. You can have the parts if you take me to Irk with you," Dib also spoke calmly.
Again, a solid minute of silence before Zim narrowed his eyes. "No. Absolutely not," he hissed.
"Oh come on, you've got nothing to lose but your ego!" Dib's plan made complete sense to himself. Go with Zim, make sure he fails without dying, bring him back to Earth a prisoner.
"NO, DIB!" Zim screeched. "You'll stab me in the back at the first chance! Plus you're annoying, a waste of space, and so, so STUPID!!!"
Dib sighed heavily. "Wow, so rude. You know what Zim, you're going to need me if you plan to go against the Tallest! She'd destroy you!"
"Nope, no, nononono! Not listening to stupid stinky Dib!" Zim rambled.
"I'm not stinky!"
"With his stupid big head!"
"My head is not big!"
"LIES! Filthy human lies, you human scum!" Zim yelled, pointing his finger at Dib.
"Ugh, you're so USELESS!" Dib barked. "You're not getting those parts unless you agree to my condition."
"Well I won't," Zim spat.
"Then you're stuck here. Stuck on the 'filthy' planet with the 'filthy' humans and stuck with me," Dib growled, clenching his fist.
"Zim doesn't need you or those parts. I'll find another way off this stink hole," Zim hissed.
"Suuuuure you will," Dib groaned. "Whatever. If you change your mind, come see me. I'm patient."
Zim growled. "Get out."
Dib rolled his eyes. "Say less." He exited the lab and headed towards the elevator. So much for that plan...

Over Friday, Zim was a grumbling chaotic mess. Mumbling what other kids thought was nonsense but what Dib knew was frustration on the situation. Complaining about ship parts, fuming about Dib's stupidity more than usual, and fussing repeatedly over things he'd usually ignore.
It was kind of funny to watch.
But Saturday started off quiet. Dib kept monitoring equipment active in the garage all day to watch Tak's ship so Zim didn't try to steal anything, and spent the bulk of the day watching Mysterious Mysteries on the couch with junk food. Gaz and Clembrane had gone out to the movies and who knew where his Dad was. Not home, that was for sure.
When nighttime came, Dib was prepared to get an early night for once in his life to fight Zim more tomorrow. However, just as he was about to take off his coat and grab his pajamas, his monitoring equipment alerted him of activity in the lab.
Dib hurriedly ran to his computer and looked at the live footage playing with a beeping red light coming from it. Zim was in the garage. "I knew it, I knew you couldn't resist!"
Dib grabbed the closest weapon, an electrified gun he stole from Area 51, and bolted into the garage. He was VERY prepared for this fight.
Zim was completely startled by the garage door being thrown open, he yelped and scampered backwards before aiming his PAK legs at Dib.
"Freeze, alien scum!" Dib spat, shooting his weapon at Zim.
Zim dodged easily, laughing maniacally, and charging at Dib. Dib ran in circles around the ship, firing shots, dodging blows, and calculating the best way to get Zim to stand on a specific panel.
