SHE HAD BEEN caught by surprise when the King requested to see her after the end of the funeral. Visenya did not know what the man could possibly want to tell her, especially considering that he had not quite interacted with the little girl much ever since he had welcomed her into the palace. However, following Otto Hightower, she joined the King a little while after he had been excused from the crowd.

Taking a seat by the fireplace, Visenya started picking up her nails, waiting until the King finally spoke to her. It felt like an eternity until that happened, and she only could leave out a breath of relief when she realized that his intentions were good.

Aegon himself had asked Viserys to persuade Visenya to stay at King's Landing in case the rumors that Rhaenyra's family, including the little girl, would leave soon were true. It had not been that common to make that demands, or even ask his father for such favors, but the older man had taken a liking to the peaceful nature of the girl. She seemed to have grown closer to all of his kids and grandchildren, and he greatly appreciated that, recognizing the pureness of her soul.

The girl was taken by surprise by the King's request. He had not been demanding to her, he gave her the option to choose what she could do, but he made sure to let her know that she is considered very important by his firstborn son. She had not quite considered those two options if she was being honest; spending her days at King's Landing was fun, she had her friends, and she was loved, but she felt that her presence caused uneasiness among the commoners. She knew she wasn't welcome there. On the other hand, Dragonstone was a place she had always found magical and wished to visit. It was far from King's Landing, and it perhaps could calm things down if she joined Rhaenyra there. But she did not know what she wanted to do. She cared deeply about Aegon, Halaena, and Aemond, but she cared a bit more about Jacaerys, Lucerys, and now, little Joffrey — that was something Aegon shouldn't know, she had said.

Once night fell in Driftmark, Visenya slipped outside of her room. It had become a habit of hers at this point; if she did not sneak out with Aegon, she would sneak out on her own. She would spend hours under the night sky, simply looking at the stars, being herself's only company, and she did not complain. Amidst the chaos this family caused every now and then, she tried to keep her peace. Plus, the cold nights reminded her of the North, the place she missed so deeply.

She hugged her knees tightly, her head turned to the sky as she sat on the edge of the balcony, her back touching one of the stone posts that surrounded her. The moonlight was illuminating the sea, creating a magical sight, as the sound of the soft waves hitting the shore was the only sound that could be heard. She thought of nothing too specific. Her mind wandered around, but her thoughts always seemed to come back to the words of the King; Aegon wanted her to stay. She was surprised, despite knowing that the young prince had feelings for her, she still found herself questioning the reasons behind that request of his.
