BEAUTY IN THE MIDST OF TWO PRINCES

Prologue

"Are you ready dear? we are running late". Enrico called out from the parlour.

"Daddy! I'm ready". Danielle shouted happily and he carried her into his arms.

"You look very cute, is your mummy ready yet?". Enrico asked and he tapped her nose.

"I'm here". Nicole replied and he looked up and smiled.

"Mummy is here, let's go and have fun". Danielle said and she giggled excitedly

They all entered the car and he drove to the national amusement park.

On the way, Enrico got to a sharp bend and a big truck was heading towards the direction of the car, he tried to avoid the truck and the car fell off the cliff.

Present Day

Nicole leaned on the window side and she looked at the moon, she was in deep thought.

"Mum...why are you not asleep yet? You've been looking at the moon for a long time".

She snapped out from her thoughts and looked at her daughter and smiled.

"I was just thinking about something, I'll go and sleep soon". Nicole replied and she looked at the moon again.

"Is it about dad? Don't worry mum, I'm always here for you". I assured her with a smile

"It's been 11 years since he abandoned us, I wish he was never your father". She replied and walked away with tears in her eyes.

"Mum!". I called out to her but she didn't look back. She entered her room and slammed the door

I need to leave her alone for a while, I know she'll feel much better in the morning, I thought

I left the parlour and I walked towards my room which was just only 6 feet from my mother's room.

I closed the door and I jumped on my bed.

I started thinking, I remembered when we moved from the US back to our hometown, Manila in the Philippines after dad abandoned us.

My phone suddenly beeped and my thoughts came to a halt, I picked up my phone from my reading table and I opened my telegram app and I saw lots of messages from Gael.

Gael: what's up? You've not been replying my messages

Gael: is everything ok?

Gael: should I come over?

Gael: are you ok?

Gael: is your mum ok?

Me: come on Gael...you sent five freaking messages at once, the world is not gonna end, just chill, everything is fine. Mum just remembered the past again and she is feeling hurt again but she'll feel better in the morning.

Gael: Phew, I'm glad everything is fine, I just got so worried about you.

Me: it's fine...come pick me up tomorrow, I don't have enough money to ride the bus to work.

Gael: Ok, not a problem. I could lend you some money

Me: No Gael, you know i won't take it just come pick me up

Gael: ok...Good night

Me: Good night

I dropped my phone on the table, I covered myself with my blanket and I fell asleep.
