Chapter 1. Working at the Bar

I woke up very early to prepare for work. I took a bath and I put on a white top and blue jean, I packed my hair in a bun and I went towards the kitchen and I met my mother already preparing breakfast.

"Good morning mum". I said as I entered the kitchen.

"Morning dear, how was your night?". She replied and she turned to face me with a smile.

"It was fine...I need to get to work before my boss scolds me". I said and I drank a glass of milk .

"Mum hope you are feeling better now?you looked disturbed yesterday". I asked and I held her shoulders

"I'm fine dear". She replied with a smile

"Dear please don't over work...I'm going to sell some clothes in the market today because we don't have any money to buy foodstuffs and also the rent is due". Mum said and she bowed her head down.

"Don't worry mum, I'll ask my boss for a down payment of my salary and I'll ask Gael to help me find some other jobs I could do to help gather enough money". I said and I hugged her tightly.

"Mum, please remember to take your drugs and also don't forget to carry your inhaler". I said as I pulled away from the hug.

"Yes dear". Mum replied and I walked towards the door when I heard a knock.

I opened the door and Gael stood there smiling.

"Hi Dani...are you ready to go?". Gael asked as he followed me inside.

"I'm ready". I said

"Good morning Ma'm". Gael greeted Mum.

"How are you Gael? Come and have breakfast". Mum said and she smiled at him

"I'm fine Ma'm but I've already eaten, I need to take Dani to work". He replied with a smile

"Ok dear...goodbye". Mum said and she waved at us.

We also waved her back.

We walked towards his motorcycle and he gave me his helmet.

"Gael, you are supposed to wear the helmet since you are the one driving". I said and I stretched my hands to give him his helmet.

"No Dani, I don't want anything to happen to you besides it's only one helmet I have". Gael replied and he climbed it.

"Gael you act weird sometimes but that's why you are my best friend". I said and I wore the helmet and I held his shoulders and I climbed the motorcycle.

Gael felt a jittery feeling as Danielle touched his shoulders.
He started the motorcycle and he drove towards the restaurant.

"Gael, could you help me find some side jobs i could do in order to save up more money". I said while holding his shoulders

Gael couldn't concentrate because Danielle's body touched his and he felt butterflies in his tummy.

"Yes Dani, I'll help you". Gael replied with a shaky voice

"Are you okay Gael? Why is your voice hoarse?". I asked and I leaned closer

"I'm fine". Gael replied with a nod

They got to the restaurant and Gael parked his motorcycle and Danielle pulled his helmet and placed it on the motorcycle and they walked inside.

"Gael, I need to change into my work clothes. Go and change too". Danielle said and she hurriedly went to change.

Gael still continued thinking about what happened,he went to change.

Danielle changed into her typical black and white gown and an apron while Gael changed into a white polo and a black jean and an apron.
