⇝A week later, Yoongi was shaking from head to toe, as he smoothed his hair in the mirror, and dabbed some perfume on his neck. It had cost him horrors to make that decision, but not seeing Jimin in his store again, managed to encourage him to do something about it. His assistant and friend, was right; if he didn't manage to take the first step towards him, he would lose him forever.
Like a mantra, in his mind it was repeated over and over again that Jimin deserved that and more. He was worth the effort he was making he should be rewarded, after so many rudeness.
He looked in his flower shop, thinking that the flowers that best described what was going through his head were the pink peonies. Hands hesitating and his breath rough, he chose a considerable amount, bordering on exaggeration. Taehyung watched the actions of his boss, in complete silence. He didn't dare even wish him luck or encourage him, lest he break down his feeble determination. Yoongi walked around the place a couple of times more, taking a dedication card and scribbling something that the brown-haired boy couldn't read. He settled it among the peonies and returned to the mirror again. He was delaying the inevitable, and he knew it, but it was his way of summoning up a courage that he didn't have, to take the first step.
―Come on... ―he whispered to himself in front of the mirror. ―He expects this... he deserves it... do it for him ―he repeated his mantra, taking two deep breaths and finally rushing out of the flower shop like lightning, making the doorbells dance, before Taehyung's surprised look.
He walked as long as his first impulse lasted, almost reaching the entrance of the restaurant. However, he stopped, tempted to turn around. He stood there, his heart pounding loudly in his ears, sweat beading his forehead and palms. He felt that he would collapse at any moment. With some force, he pressed down on the stems of the peonies, concentrating on breathing, closing his eyes.
Staying like that, hardly looking, he opened the door of the Bon Apettit, letting out a breath, before properly opening his eyes. He had done it, crossed the street and entered the place. He was getting more than a first step out of his comfort zone and he wanted to laugh on sheer bliss at being able to dare so much.
―Welcome to Bon... Oh... ―Seokjin, seeing the huge bouquet, hand in hand with the owner of the flower shop, opened his mouth. He didn't even wait for the man to detail the reason for his visit, before running to the kitchen, looking for Jimin; who waited for an order. ―Jiminie... you have to come, now! ―he ordered and the boy raised his eyebrows in a silent question. ―Your Yoongi-ssi... is waiting for you at the entrance.
―What? ―his expression changed to one of total bewilderment, unable to believe what his boss was saying. So, guided by his curiosity, he walked towards the entrance, to find out what was happening.
The first thing his eyes caught was the large bouquet of pink peonies, behind which Min Yoongi's reddened, embarrassed face was hidden. Seeing him, he fell completely silent, thinking he was beginning to hallucinate, while the blond hid further behind the flowers in his hands, afraid to make eye contact with him. The next thing Jimin knew, he was smiling so wide his cheeks ached and his vision was clouded with tears to spill. Happiness overcame him to see him there, just as he was wishing it would happen for days.
Slowly, he walked the few steps that separated them, and the blonde awkwardly spread the bouquet, bumping into his chest, and knocking some petals to the ground. The black-haired boy accepted the gift, noting a card in between, which he took and read.
"I love you, but I'm too shy to tell you"
Jimin wanted to laugh out loud, remembering that that was what those particular flowers meant. They were a perfect fit for their situation, and that only made it more incredible.
―Luckily, I'm not shy ―he teased, speaking only to him, a little ways back from the doorway. ―Yoongi-ssi... I love you too... and much more than that ―the blond bit his lower lip, looking down at his feet and nodding in response. ―Is... Is too much for you... to receive a kiss from me? ―he wanted to know, Min, at his question, felt that he would die, and despite that, he denied it, breathing on the verge of hyperventilation. Slowly, he lifted his face, squeezing his eyes shut, unable to look at him now that his head seemed to want to explode and his heart to scape from his body.
It was not difficult for Jimin to notice the effort that the blond was making at the moment, so, seeing that he was waiting with his eyes closed, he approached slowly, limiting himself to placing a sweet kiss on his reddened cheek, hearing the audible sigh of the eldest.
―Thank you very much, Yoongi-ssi ―he spoke, without moving away completely, waiting for Yoongi to open his eyes again, and look at him. The man swallowed, affected by the closeness of him and the beauty of him.
―To... To you ―he said, in a low murmur that had Jimin smiling for the rest of the day, once the blonde had left.
