12. Storm

Lena ran as fast as her legs would take her. She didn't care if she caught stares from onlookers as she ran faster than humanly possible. She had to get to Bella. Her sister. She pulled open the door to the back entrance of the dance studio where she saw James kneeling over Bella with her leg in his grip. Instinctively, she let her body shift into the wolf form before she ran for James, pulling him away from Bella with her jaws. She growled as she stalked toward him, large teeth bared. Out of no where she was thrown into the mirrored wall by an unknown attacker. She yelped in pain as the man, who she now realized was her father but different now, stared into her eyes. His own eyes were blood red, a vampire. "Miss me?" He sneered as he kicked her into another wall. "See this is where my plan turns genius. Kalena's school records showed a Warren Thorsten but Victoria couldn't find him in Forks anywhere. Turns out he was rotting away in prison. Desperate for revenge on his daughter for locking him up. So I decided on a jail break and turned him. All of this could have easily been avoided if your little boyfriends didn't make such a pathetic attempt at saving your lives." James laughed along as he laid out his scheme to the girls all while holding a recording camera. Lena mustered everything she had to pick herself up off the ground. She let out a low snarl even though it hurt to breathe. She wasn't going down without a fight. She dodged her fathers careless attack and ran to James just as he sank his teeth down into Bella's wrist. She grabbed him by the throat and pulled him off, even managed to rip his arm off before her fathers full body was tumbling into hers. She did her best to keep up the fight but the newborn vampire was much stronger. She heard the door burst open and knew it had to be help. At least Bella would be safe. Her father got his arms around her and bit down hard in her shoulder. Lena yelped and then everything faded to black.
Edward was first in the door, being faster than any of his family. What he found behind the door was appalling. Bella was writhing on the floor, Lena had James in her jaws as she tried to tear him apart and her father was bounding to her throwing his whole body at her. He ran to Bella's side and his unbeating heart dropped when he saw the bite. She would turn. Exactly what he did not want. James pulled him away from his thoughts as he came at him. Lena had done a number on him already but he was still breathing. Edward was about to end it right there when he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Let your siblings handle it, Bella needs you." Carlisle told him before he brought his son to Bella's side. Emmett and Alice handled what was left of James as Jasper took care of of Warren on his own. He knew newborns better than anyone. Caroline kneeled next to Lena's now human side. "Lena?" She tried as she checked over the girls body. No response as Darcy was entirely limp. "Carlisle! She isn't breathing! I'm a bit out of my depth over here!" She called. "I can't leave Bella right now. Do what you can. You can do it Caroline." Caroline swore under her breath as tried to get the girl breathing again. "Sounds like your girl is dying over there." Warren smirked as he and Jasper circled each other. Jasper snarled and let warren take a run at him. He grabbed him by the neck and with a swift kick severed his head. He threw it into the fire along with the rest of him. "Carlisle now! I'm losing her!" He heard Caroline yell. He dashed to Lena's side who was at least now conscious and breathing but crying in pain and losing a fair amount. "Jasper?" Lena whispered. "I don't want to die. Not yet. I'm not ready. I don't want to die." She sputtered through tears. "You're not going to Darlin. You and I aren't finished yet." He held her lap in his head. "I love you." Left her lips before her eyes closed. "Lena no. Lena-Carlisle!"
