Rayla was climbing a mountain. She used her knives to support her weight. She took out her knife and stabbed it a few inches above. She used a foothold to rise up. She continued the process a few more times before she finally got to the top.
She held the edge of the cliff with both hands and pushed herself upwards with the help of a gap in the cliff.
She collapsed at the surface and turned around on her back to pull her feet up. She sat up and took a moment to catch her breath.
Mountain climbing was never a thing she liked to do.
She got up and walked towards the forest in front of her. She got out her knives and prepared to go in.
<><><><><><>Callum flew above a forest. He knew he was going in the direction Rayla went. While on foot, he found some trees slashed or marked with an x.
But he covered it up with some magic to prevent random people from stumbling upon a magical land.
He looked everywhere below for the elf assassin. But she was nowhere to be found. He must be really behind.
He picked up some speed and was now travelling 2x faster than before.
The cool air sent shivers down his body and the wind hit his ears, muting all sounds.
Eventually, after a few hours, he felt his arms go numb and his body growing weaker by the minute.
He landed at a river near a forest. His wings disappeared and he collapsed as soon as his foot touched the ground.
He panted as he laid under the afternoon sun. Sweat trailed down his neck and his chest rose up and down in rhythm with his breathing.
He closed his eyes and laid on his back, arms and legs spread out.
He was exhausted. He had been travelling all night. He didn't even eat.
After catching his breath, he stood up and did his best to walk around. Though with each step he took, he wobbled and kept hitting the trees.
He wanted to lay down and rest his weak body. But he needed to find food.
Unfortunately for him, his legs trembled and he fell backwards, hitting a tree. He grunted and winced.
He wished he brought Bait or Zym with him.
Then he saw his bag move. His eyes widened and he took a stick.
He watched the bag move again and again until a paw came out. It was yellow and glowing.
Then he realized.
"Bait?"
The yellow glowtoad shuffled out of the bag and faced the surprised mage. He croaked with a small smile.
"Bait! Thank goodness you're here. Can you get me some food? I can't move..."
Bait walked away, Callum's food pouch tied to his foot.
Callum struggled to move. Especially after that hit to the tree. He managed to crawl back to the river.
Once there, he wiggled over to the water and scooped up some water with his hands. Water trailed down his jaw and to his neck.
He sighed in relief. Extreme wind can make you extremely thirsty as it dries up your body.
A light hitting his eye caught his attention. His gaze averted to the spot next to him. The sunlight was focused on something. It was a gold coin.
He stretched out his arm and picked up the coin. But as soon as he did, he immediately let it go. It was burning hot.
He winced and pulled back his arm.
That thing must've been in the sun for days.
He took it again but this time, he dipped his gloved hand in the water. He waited for about a minute before pulling his hand out.
The coin was now warm.
He dried it with his sleeve and squinted to get a better look.
It was an elf. Someone who looked all too familiar. It had purple horns and pinkish skin.
It was definitely a moonshadow elf.
But who?
