Chapter 11

Rayla was nearing Xadia. She was only 2 days away.

Right now, she was running at full speed with her hands behind her, holding her knives. (Naruto run😉😌)

She panted as she ran towards the end of the forest. She has been searching for an exit for hours. Now she has found.

It was only a few minutes away.

But just then, she tripped over a vine, causing her to fall on the ground with a loud grunt.

She sighed in frustration and she pushed herself up. But as she stood on her feet, she felt a sharp pain in her ankle and her legs gave out, causing her to fall back down.

She gritted in her teeth as she punched the ground in anger.

The universe just loves making things difficult for her...

Callum had just passed a cliff. Normally, he would climb it but why do it the hard way when he can just fly.

Now he was deep inside it's forest.

But as he was walking, he found some faded footprints on the ground.

He knelt down and rubbed some of the dirt on his fingers.

"What do you think Bait? Rayla's or not?" He turned to the glowtoad.

Bait croaked, voicing his opinion. "You're right. It can be anyone's. Let's keep moving." He stood up and carried Bait before walking away.

Rayla panted as she layed on the ground. She had attempted to get up over and over again. But sadly, she kept on falling down.

Turning around on her stomach, she moved her arms and legs up and down, trying to crawl her way out of the forest.

While it may take a while, it was better than staying there until her foot felt better.

Little by litte, she moved. She was sure her clothes had been stained by dirt.

But that dosen't matter to her now.

Callum followed the trail of footprints. Not because he was curious. But because it leads towards the end of the forest.

He wondered why a person walked through the forest kilometers away from a village.

Once he was out, his wings appeared and he flew off, still on Rayla's trail.

Bait was in his bag, very secure.

He knows he was nearing Xadia. He was only about 3 days away. He pretty sure that Rayla was near as well.

Rayla was out of the forest. She was still crawling on the ground. She was sure she was in the Middle Valley.

Middle Valley is a place she found in the map. It was some hills and a small village with a wide strip of land in between.

She has heard that there are many creatures living in this untouched land.

There are poisonous snakes, wild bears, bees, insects, parasites, etc.. Basically, it was a land filled with danger.

It's the reason why it's so untouched. And it goes by many names. Some of which defines it danger.

It has been called:

-Murder Valley
-Suicide Valley
-Wild Land
-Danger Valley
-Sacred Valley
-Devil Animal Valley
-Kill Valley
-Off Limits
-Untouched Land
-Untouched Valley

Those are the names she has heard people say. And how does she know all this you ask?

During her travels to Xadia, she has heard many stories about it. Mostly stories about how dangerous it is.

But still. She had to keep going. It was a shortcut towards Xadia. And she was willing to cross it if it meant she could enter her home place and get her ankle treated.

She took a deep breath and cautiously crawled on the ground.

A/N: wait... how do you cautiously crawl?

Callum has made it out of the forest. He could still see the trail of footsteps that led to the forest in front of him.

It was still quite far. It will take him about an hour to get there and maybe two to get out.

"Bait what do you think? Should we go in there or do we fly above?" He asked the glowtoad.

Bait croaked, telling him to go in.

Callum looked at him suspiciously before nodding his head.

"If you say so." He shrugged. Was he crazy for listening to a grumpy and lazy glowtoad? Probably. But people say animals have good instincts so it's best to listen to them in a situation like that.

At least that's what he believes...
