Rayla was once again atop the dragons statue. It had become her favorite place after a few days of coming there.

It was a peaceful place for her really. It was quiet. She could think. And she can breath in the fresh air of Xadia that she has been longing for for months.

She was glad that Ethari allowed her to go out. But he made her promise that she won't go anywhere near the forest.

She dosen't really see what the big deal is but she figured that something must've changed during her time away from home.

So she didn't question it. What she was questioning however, is the recently odd behavior of Ethari.

She didn't want to press on it since it was clear that he was frustrated with something and she didn't want to make it worse.

But he's getting more and more suspicious each day. He would come home late with dirt and bruises, he now apparently has a side job, he's outside every single day, and he dosen't seem to be doing his job as a blacksmith anymore.

It frustrated her. So much so to the point where she even thought about following him. But she quickly dismissed the idea, not seeing the act as honorable and respectful.

Rayla slumped down from her sitting position against the wing of the statue. She so wanted to leave the place.

But she promised herself that she wouldn't leave until things are good between her and Ethari. She dosen't even think things can be good with them.

The last time she visited Ethari was when she was only 15 with Callum, asking him for help.

He didn't seem to be mad about her sudden appearance, but a feeling in her gut told her that he was upset.

I mean who wouldn't be? His husband and friends died after all and he was left with the rumor that she ran away leaving them all to die.

But Runaan wasn't exactly dead...

But Ethari dosen't know that. She couldn't really find the right time to tell him without them ending up in an argument.

Rayla wishes that things were as simple as when she was a kid. She liked everything better before that mission.

But then again, it is her fault. Instead of following orders and sticking to the original plan, she ended up getting involved with humans.

And she tried to convince Runaan to leave the place and help the Dragon Queen. But he wasn't so fond of the idea.

And then, she ran off with humans with a new mission and got herself involved in more trouble.

How stupid it was of her to do that...

But if she didn't do that, then she wouldn't have met Callum and Ezran. She wouldn't be free and she wouldn't be able to go to the adventure she always dreamed of.

It was worth it. But was it really that worth it? Her family is broken. She's on bad terms with Callum, and she plans to leave Ethari alone again.

So many regrets swirled through her mind and got mixed up with the important thing she should be thinking about.

She has a headache....

A/N: hi! So I know I said I won't update for the week. But I needed to at least post something. This chapter is short (obviously) and there wasn't any lines at all. This chapter isn't really important. It just serves as an extra. Think of it like an anime filler. That will be all! See ya next week!✌ (wish me luck on my exams)
