Ever since I told Felix to leave me alone, Chan and I have been spending more and more time together. He really is so sweet and caring. Growing closer to him and spending time has been so much fun, but somehow I can't seem to get Felix out of my mind. Everytime I've seen him in school the past few days, it seemed like he wanted to approach me, but didn't. Probably to respect the boundaries I set. Even though parts of me want him to come and talk it out with me, the other part is more than glad he's staying away from me.
Just like the past few days Chan and I have been eating lunch together close to the gate, since there aren't really any other students to bother us here, meaning we have some alone time here, which the both of us really appreciate.
"Can I have some?", Chan points into my lunchbox. At first confused I look down, before agreeing with a smile on my face. Happily he takes whatever he wants before looking up int he sky.
"It's really beautiful today, isn't it?", He smile, which I immediately reciprocate.
"Yeah, it's really warm, but in a good way."
As we eat, I notice Felix, standing close to the building, a few meters away from us, just staring at us.
Does he miss me?
"Chan. I don't know what to do.."
Concerned the older one follows my gaze. The second he understands what I'm talking about, he looks back at me.
"I know it's difficult for you. I hope I was able to help you a bit."
"Yeah, you helped me so much and I felt so good being with you. I just.. I guess I just miss him, like a lot."
With a nod Chan wraps his arms around me, in a try to comfort me. Smiling I return the gesture, cuddling myself in his chest.
"Thank you."
"Just remember. I'll always be there for you."After lunch Chan and I had to go seperate ways, as our lockers are in different places. Fortunately we have the next lesson together again, meaning I won't have to be by myself.
Relaxed I walk down the hall, that is already empty, as the next lesson is about to start. Arriving at my locker I quickly put a few books inside and take a different one out, when someone closes my locker with force, almost catching me with the locker door. Already pissed I turn to look who that was, when the same person traps me between them and the locker. Now panicking I look up, to see a familiar freckled face.
"Felix?"
"Do you really hate me now??", His voice sounds weak and powerful at the same time.
"What?", Is all I can answer, as his body gets closer to mine, until the touch.
"Do you hate me, y/n? Is that why you want me to leave you alone?", His voice slowly turn into small sobs, as he let's his head rest on my shoulder. Hearing his quiet sobs makes my heart ache all over again. He's not one to cry easily, I know that.
After a sigh, I slowly pet his back.
"No. I don't hate you. I... You hurt me. I don't think I can deal with the hurt you have and would cause. I'm sorry."
Feeling how my knees get weaker I try to force him off of me, but fail. He's really strong. Even if he doesn't seem like he is.
"Felix. We need to go. Class is about to start", is my second try to get him to let me go.
"Will we ever be friends?"
"Felix.."
"Please, y/n. I need to know."
"I.. don't think so", again I force myself to say it. The words leaving my mouth cause his sobs to turns into a silent cry, as he lets go of me and leaves without saying another word.
I know I hurt him, but was it actually the right call I just made?
