Chapter 12: Raptor Recon Mission
Alpha ran after Gamma and Beta, desperately trying to pretend that her leg wasn't damaged and she could run fine (though giving no hint of her weakness). Why did Gamma of all creatures have to know? They all soon came to the place that Rexy had defeated them in. "They're in here!" Gamma yelled. They ran through the doors, and slowed down. The bones of their battle were still here. They ran into the lab that they were berthed in. One of the strange nests had a few hatchlings in it. Yes! More of them! Finally, they were alone no longer- "Hi!" Alpha looked down at one of the hatchlings at her feet. This one was already moving about. "Umm... Hello?" Alpha replied. "Are you my parents." "Umm... No. We're not." Beta replied. "You don't have parents!" Alpha snapped, extremely pessimistically and angrily. The baby did not seem phased by her angry attitude. She probably didn't understand yet. She looked at Gamma, as she made a loud squeak of delight. She was nudging the newborn's with her snout, like she was playing with them. Sure, the babies LOOOOVE her. Alpha tried playing with the baby at her feet, put she was inexperienced and rough. She accidentally pushed the baby over. It looked okay though. The child got back to her feet, and started hugging Alpha's leg. She was not pleased. "Stop that!" She sneered. The child seemed a bit discouraged. She got off Alpha's leg. "Shall we raise them?" Beta asked. "Form a new pack?" "Yes, yes," Alpha replied. "These little ones need guardians after all."
