Chapter 10: Revenge With A Side Of Claws

Green trotted alongside his new pack in the warm sunshine. It was so blissful just being with his new friends (especially Blue), and he was getting over the death of his past pack. Blue's pack had been so welcoming, and Blue herself was very kind, caring, and understanding. She was the first one he met after the others. She was also very pretty, and she-... no. That was the irrational side of him. He knew he and her had, well...certain feelings for the other (wink wink). But, he had to keep those thoughts to a minimum. She probably wouldn't like getting all that praise heaped on her. But, they still clung together and couldn't be separated. Well, for long at least. That was about to be tested.

As they made their way into a clearing, a almost invisible claw swiftly batted Blue into a tree. Green's heart stopped working for a few seconds. "Not again..." Blue managed from a cliff side she was stuck in. Green turned back in shock and horror. It looked like a branch covered in moss had slapped her. Then it transformed. A great big beast with quills on its head stepped out of the shadow. It's teeth were thick and sharp, and it's claws looked like daggers. They made him feel as if they could slice out both of his eyes in one swoop. He would stay wary. It's skin shifted from a mossy, moldy green, to a pale white. It looked straight at him, eyes glowing red. "Okay, now who are you?" It said. "Uhhhh..." Green responded. "SHUT UP!" Never mind." The beast said, as it turned to Delta, Charlie, and Echo. "You're what I want." Suddenly, the beast screamed in pain. "EEAAHHH!" It's voice echoed across the surrounding land. It was moving around, and clawing at its back in agony. It turned around, and Green saw the source of pain. Blue was on top of it, clawing and biting at an open wound. "Off me!" It yelled, and batted Blue again. She fell right next to Green. He helped her up. "What is that thing!?" He yelled. "You don't want to know. But last time, I was battered against glass and concrete, so trees are an improvement." "This time, I'll throw YOU into that lake with the giant sea-lizard!" "What!?" Green responded. He turned to Blue. "You don't wanna know..." She said. "Run!" Charlie yelled. She bounded for the hills. The others followed suit.

Eventually, they were all running on a cliff side, and trying to not keep peering over the edge. They were running, and the beast was following. Eventually, they reached a wider part of the cliff side. It was farther away from the edge. They stopped and turned around to face the tyrannical monstrosity. "We'll, at least you stopped being COWARDS!" It roared. "Yaaaah!" Charlie yelled, as she jumped on its head. The beast roared in pain, as it turned around, distracted. Delta pounced on its back, and it roared again. It clawed Charlie off its face, grabbed Delta, and through her into the rocky surface of the wall. It swatted Echo away, and looked at its last two opponents. Blue was scared, but turned her eyes, and saw Green dripping with tears in his red eyes. She had to be brave. "Run." She muttered under her breath, but she knew that Green heard her. She screamed with anger, and bravely pounced on the monster. Green ran, but he looked back, and Blue was struggling. He had to keep running though. He ran and ran, but he came to a corner of the inner cliff side. He could climb it though. He took one last look back, and saw Blue on the ground, with red gashes all over her body, and the great white beast running toward him. He tried to climb, but it was wet and slippery, and he fell on his back. The beast ran towards him, and was towering above him. Green laid his back on the wall, sat up, and looked at the monster, basking in the sunlight. "And I thought she was pitiful." It spouted haughtily. "You're even more of a coward than her. She just couldn't accept me as the leader." Green was confused, but didn't have time to question it , as he was trying to enjoy his last few moments. "But I'm done with her now. I'm not over with you though." It spat. It took a giant step forward, and the ground shook beneath it. It towered over him, a queen to a beggar. It smiled and smirked a sharp, toothy grin. "No one's coming to save you." It said, it's eyes glowing red with hate. "You will die here alone, a pathetic worm. You are weak, compared to a queen like me. This little game ends here." It said. "Oh, your a female?" Green managed with a wincing smile. He chuckled weakly. The monster snorted, and growled angrily. "THIS LITTLE GAME. ENDS. NOW!" She yelled. She raised her claw, blocking the sun. The monster roared. Green closed his eyes, smiled weakly again for a second, then hung his head, and awaited his fate.
