Together Breakfast

( Inside the beach house )

Mery and Steven opened the windows to watch the sunrise. Centi was curled up asleep on the couch.

Steven: ( to Mery: ) Everyone's out. Guess we're makin' us breakfast.

Mery: ( excitedly: ) Heck yeah! ( Runs off screen )

Steven: Remember no sugar, Mery!

Montage sequence of Steven and Mery rummaging their kitchen and making breakfast, starting with a stack of waffles with lots of syrup on them. As Steven knocked on the temple door, Mery was cooking some rice on the stove. Steven saw what Mery was doing.

Steven: I'm pretty sure that rice and syrup don't taste good together, Mery.

Mery: Don't worry, I'm just making something for Centi, I'm thinking rice with mashed avocados mixed in and a Lion Licker on the side.

Steven: Ooh, Gotcha.

Steven then microwaves some popcorn and dumps them over the waffles. Mery then finished cooking the rice and started mashing some avocados as Steven was sitting in front of the Warp Pad, seemingly waiting for the gems to warp in. Steven then sprays a mountain of whipped cream on top of the waffles as Mery is mixing together the rice and mashed avocados in a bowl with a spoon. Steven looked at the breakfast he just made.

Steven: Look at you, you are out of control!

Mery: Control is overrated.

Steven then opens the front door of the house.

Steven: Pearl? Maggie? Garnet?!

Steven then went back inside and continued to improve the breakfast, Steven takes a strawberry and carefully places it on top of the whipped cream as Mery stood on a chair and opened the freezer to pull out a Lion Licker.

Steven: ( to Mery: ) Why does Centi even like Lion Lickers? They don't even look like lions.

Mery: I don't know, but I ain't going to even question it. If my little bug likes them, he's going to have them.

Steven then lifts the breakfast up in triumph as Mery placed Centi's breakfast on the ground beside the couch. Centi quickly woke up at the smell of the food, mostly the Lion Licker and quickly started devouring the breakfast Mery made him.

Steven: It's done! ( sets it down on the kitchen table, sighs, and flops next to the breakfast ) That thing's too good for us to eat alone. It's a... Together Breakfast.

The Warp Pad suddenly beamed in, startling Steven. Garnet then appears from the warp stream, carrying a scroll in her hand. Mery quickly knew that Garnet wasn't going to join them for breakfast, so she tuned everything out to save herself from the disappointment. She even tuned out when Amethyst bursted through the front door wielding a water gun, and she even tuned out the sound of Steven saving the Together Breakfast from a blast of the water gun. Mery then quickly knew that none of the gems were going to join them for breakfast.

Mery then went to the bathroom to avoid anymore disappointment. She then closed the door behind her and sat inside the bathtub as she started letting out her upset feelings, causing the temperature of the room to down drastically and ice crystals quickly started forming on the walls and frost quickly started forming on the mirror as Mery hugged her knees with tears in her eyes. Centi then walked in, shivered a little from the sub-zero temperatures in the room, and he jumped into the bathtub with Mery and snuggled up to her. Mery then saw what her emotions were doing and quickly became more upset.
