Mery held onto Centi as she was walking beside Garnet, Pearl, Maggie, and Amethyst as roaring was heard, rumbling the place. Mery had barely noticeable bags under her eyes, due to not having any sleep last night.
Pearl: I don't think they are earthquakes, they're too frequent!
Mery: And last time I checked ( pulls out a book about earthquakes and opens it ), yep, earthquakes don't roar.
Steven's bike collapses down the stairs in front of them. Steven catches up to it and picks it up.
Amethyst: Hey look! Steven's got a bike!
Maggie: ( to Steven: ) Where ya goin', little bro?
Steven: Just out for a ride.
Pearl: In the sand?
Steven: Yup!
Steven then leaves, while struggling to ride his bike in the sand.
Mery: But, Steven! That's not how bikes work!
Mery then picked Centi up and followed Steven. She then saw Steven looking at a dark skinned girl nearby, reading a book on the sand. He then paddles his bike past the girl and parks it. Mery sat down on a rock and watched with curiosity what Steven was trying to do.
Steven: Some smooth ride... ( turns to look at the girl, engrossed in her book ) Five speeds... ( repeatedly turns to between her and his bike ) Hand brake... Electric blue finish with a tiger bell!
Mery: ( to self: ) Is he... trying to get her attention? ( She gets an idea and looks at Centi ) Centi, fetch mama her violin.
Centi quickly took off and returned with Mery's violin on his back.
Steven rings the bell on his bike to draw the girl's attention, without her luck.
Steven: I bet there are a lot of kids who'd love to ride this bi- Woooah!
Steven tries to climb onto his bike, but falls off. The girl finally turned her head towards Steven, who is sitting on top of his fallen bike. Embarrassed, Steven throws his helmet away and runs off screaming.
Mery: ( to self: ) Oh, dear... ( Looks at Centi and picks up her violin and bow ) Centi, can you go make sure Steven is okay? Mama, is going to help him impress the girl by showing his amazing sister by heart, me.
Centi nodded his head and started running off in the same direction Steven went.
Mery then calmly walked to the girl's view with her back turned, and she positioned her violin properly with the bow in her hand and with a calm expression like she wasn't paying attention to the girl nearby behind her. She then began to play with her eyes closed, earning the girl's attention.

As Mery zoned out into the song, Steven was practicing his speech as he walked towards the girl with Centi following.
