You were just a normal teenage girl. Eighteen, preparing to graduate high school and for whatever comes next in your life. Being a reminiscent senior, you decided to go back and play one of the video games you bought years ago, Minecraft Story Mode.
This is where everything went downhill. Or maybe uphill. It's your opinion, I guess.
----
"Ugh, my head..." You mumbled, sitting up from your position of laying... in a patch of grass? You shot upwards, looking around the area you'd woken up in. You were in a forest with trees surrounding you. Everything looked normal- never mind.
From behind a tree you could see a grotesquely realistic... creeper? You had to be dreaming. You brought your hand to your arm, breathing in before pinching your skin.
A yelp escaped your mouth. "Is this a lucid dream?" You mumbled as you turned to admire your surroundings in awe. The blocky graphics really didn't do Minecraft justice. Well, the pixelated faces of the little chickens, wolves, and other animals were adorable, but that's beside the point.
Following your conclusion of being in a dream, you did what any logical person would do. You walked over to a tree -far away from the creeper- and attempted to punch it. After a couple seconds, it surprisingly broke, the rest of the tree floating due to Minecraft logic. You laughed at your predicament, smirking at the fun you knew you were about to have.
I guess I better make the best of this while it lasts.
---
You now lay in your bed, nestled in the small wood and cobblestone house you had built. A pit of worry was growing in your stomach as time passed. Nothing wonky had happened like in your normal dreams.
Your dream was like Minecraft in every way besides the graphics. Crafting tables simply popped items into existence when given the right materials, and when a block broke or mob dies they simply popped out of existence, leaving their loot behind.
Another thing brewing up your concern was that when you tried to think of what had happened before you woke up, your head would get foggy and ache. You knew what had happened, you were sure of it, but you simply couldn't get the thought off the tip of your tongue -or brain in this case.
I'll figure it out tomorrow... I'm too tired for this.
You rolled over in your bed, your thoughts causing you to come to a sudden realization. Feeling pain was one thing, but exhaustion was another. Was this really a dream? And out of all the isekai world you could be in, a single player Minecraft world?
As you attempted to sleep, which was much harder than in game, thoughts disrupted your journey to dreamland.
Would you be able to use redstone? Were you able to use elytra and fireworks? What version were you in? Was there anyway for you to get home? And... was the gamemode hardcore?
You shook off your thoughts, trying to convince yourself of being in a dream.
...
Well, at least you put in the effort, right?
---
When you woke up the next morning, you were sure of it. This wasn't a dream. Everything seemed off about the situation you were in. I mean, pain, exhaustion, and how realistic yet Minecraft-y everything was? Your brain didn't have the IQ to simulate all that in a dream. Though, you wouldn't really mind if it did.
Back to reality, which was where you had decided you were, you had to survive. If this was hardcore, you knew you had to survive, obviously. Even if it wasn't, dying didn't sound too enjoyable.
You sighed as you prepared for what you had to do. You had enough iron to craft a full set of tools, and did so before heading off to the North, in hopes of finding a village or possibly some other players. You'd seen your fair share of movies, without human contact people went insane.
