As you sat around the fire with your friends (which you couldn't help but think was a bad idea to have in the middle of your wooden treehouse that you were all going to sleep in), you awkwardly waited for Olivia's 10/10 conversation starter. Jesse and Axel were chatting while Olivia sat by you, fixing up her hair and not saying her line.
"Does this look okay, Y/n? I don't have a brush or mirror so I just want it to look... cleanly."
You snap your head over to her quickly, trying not to look like you were staring at everyone. "You look fine, Olivia. It's almost as good as when we went to that nice restaurant without the boys."
"What?!" You hear Axel yell from across the treehouse floor, but you and Olivia tune him out.
"Thanks, N/n." Olivia sighs, glancing over at Axel with a smile that you know is holding back a laugh. It's nice to see her spirits up after the events that happened today, and you smile at the thought before remembering the lack of high spirits of everyone else.
You glance over at the three boys as inconspicuously as you can, scooting closer to Olivia. "If we're going to be stuck with everyone here for... a while, I think it's best if we get them to clear up their... tension." You elbow Olivia in the ribs a few times as you un-suspiciously nod to the three guys with your head. Olivia, also very un-suspiciously, follows you gaze and nods, agreeing with you.
"So!" Olivia moved closer to the fire, dragging you with her. "Would you rather fight 100 chicken sized zombies, or 10 zombie-sized chickens?" She looks between Axel, Jesse, and Lukas expectantly, taking a seat on the ground next to you.
"You already asked us that earlier." Axel frowns, clearly in one of his grumpy moods.
Jesse looks at Olivia apologetically, but Lukas speaks up before he does, "I would rather fight the zombie-sized chickens. We could fry them up or something."
As silence fell over your group again, you couldn't help but feel annoyed at your good-willed scheme being shut down so fast. Thinking quickly, you save the day by pulling out an item you baked earlier, "I made a cake to celebrate Endercon! We can have that!"
As you handed out slices, you made sure to give the extra big piece to Reuben since Jesse was busy counseling Axel. "Just to make sure, no one has any food allergies, right? "
Everyone looked at you like you were a wierdo. "How could people be allergic to food?" Axel asked carelessly. You looked at your friends, expecting one of them to correct him but none of them did.
Dang, I guess people from this world are blessed without allergies... or maybe my world is just cursed.
Despite your odd comment, your friends ate happily, letting you know you didn't mess up the recipe this time.

A few minutes ago...
From across the treehouse, Lukas watched as you whispered to Olivia and slightly pointed in his direction, wondering if he screwed up and creeped you out when he went to talk to you earlier and would now have to find his own shelter for the night.
----
The next morning, you woke up to the lovely sight of the incoming carrier of the black death- in wither form rather than rat form. It looked like it had grown ten times in size since you had last seen it, and you could only hope that the bodies of innocent people weren't too much of its mass. Now, it wouldn't be as bad if Gabriel was eaten, but you would never wish death on anyone. You totally would hope for his sacrifice so Petra could join your group though.
As you packed up camp, you pulled out the amulet which through all the chaos had been left in your care. None of the lights were lit, as to be expected, but the shine in the crystals made you wonder how it worked, and also how it was made.
"Y/n, you ready to go?" Jesse asked as he picked up Reuben who had to be carried down the ladder due to his lack of thumbs.
You nodded before realizing he wasn't looking at you. "Yeah, I'll be right behind you, just give me a minute."
Jesse gave you a blank look before going down the ladder, "That's what you said the time you forgot we had to be somewhere and started baking."
"Hey, that was-" You grumbled as you turned to see Jesse no longer there, a frown etching its way onto your face. "Stupid main-character..."
When you reached the bottom of the ladder, your friends were all waiting for you, two more than the others.
"Y/n-" Two voices said at the same time, Olivia and Lukas glancing at each other before looking back to you.
Olivia leaned closer to you, lowering her voice, "Axel's been bullying Lukas. Again. I think the whole making them friends idea last night might have failed."
You gave her a look as you saw Axel try to approach Lukas again, him sending a panicked look to who-knows-where with you occupied. "Really? I would have never guessed. I got this though." You walked over to Axel, giving him a pat on the shoulder.
If you want something from someone, you have to get on their level. And for Axel, it's pretty low. At least on the whole being kind scale.
"Axel, don't be mean to Lukas. He's already got a serious condition of being blonde." You say, not bothering to lower your voice. Axel holds in a laugh as he nods along with you with his best serious face.
"I can't help it, just look at that dumb- ow! My foot!"
"My bad."
Despite not fully understanding the situation, Lukas couldn't help but feel thankful to you for saving him from your friend, and also wonder if he should dye his hair.

Merry Christmas (or whatever holiday)!! I might delete this chapter since I don't like it that much, but I wanted to post something over the holidays, so yeah. Also, is it or is it not weird to keep a diary nowadays? I'm on volume 4, so like, I'm biased, you know?
