Song name: Atlantic Sleeping at last
"I have no set home, no village.
The tides are all I've ever known.
I protect the sea, venture the skies.
Live amoungst the winged beasts of all kinds.
They are like you and I. Have families and needs.
They protect their own and are most weary of wingless and clothed beings called man.
They are just as curious as we are and scared as we are.
The sea is my home, the water is all I've ever known.
From birth till current day.
From morning till later noon.
I spend my days free from the bounds of gravity, on the back of my winged, best friend Atlas.
Swaying amoungst the clouds.
Or swimming past the seeable depths of the sea.
Deep down, where unknown treasures can be found.
I am a daughter.
A descendant of voyagers, whom sought a place to call home.
A child of legends.
As well as a lost soul.
I swept days adrift, what was left of their ships full of pleasant memories.
Where my people currently are, who knows.
Emotions swirled, pain blossomed from longing. Though it was quietly being weakened by despair and doubts of why I will be able to survive.
Hope turned to hopelessness.
Death didn't seem bad.
Death would mean I'd be able to join my family, rather than live a life alone.
So, I let myself slipped off, into the calm waters.
Deeper and deeper away from the light.
Allowing the sea to do what it will with me.
I had been all alone.
Then Atlas found me.
Drowning in the sea.
His reasons for taking interest in me are unknown.
Perhaps cause I was this young girl, made all alone.
Alone much like he was.
Hurt like he was.
I woke up later on some distant shores. Atlas not far away, scarred with wiped slashes. Injured by wired, man-made contraptions.
We helped each other.
Then had to learn to trust each other.
Together we took first flight.
Ventured many unnamed islands together.
We saved each other,
Countless of times.
We fight together,
Sometimes fight each other.
Regardless of it, we trust each other with each other's lives.
He is an extension my soul and I am his.
He is my family.
He is my home."
She concludes her tale to said dragon, his snout comfortably nestled on her lap. Atlas releases a contented huff, acknowledging her words.
"You truly are an extraordinary dragon," she chuckles, affectionately rubbing his head. His expression almost resembles a smile.
"Yet, your laziness is more so. You choose extra sleep over helping me makes you no better than a snake." She teases playfully. She taps the dragon, signaling for him to lift his head. He remains indifferent to her comment, he closes his eyes as if he was asleep. Completely ignoring her.
"Come on, let's exercise those wings before they forget their purpose" she suggests, patting him to encourage movement, though Atlas refused to budge.
"You sleep as much as you eat and right now it lunch time, the eels are swimming south. I bet you're starving." she whispers. The mention of food makes the dragon lazily open his eye to boredly glance at her.
They are locked in a staring contest before Atlas moves his head off her. She happily gets up, her limbs popping in satisfaction. Whilst dusting her maroon patched skirt, she gives the dragon a glance. "I may need to feed him less, he's getting too heavy"
Efficiently, she tugs the hook fastened to the underside of her maroon-patched skirts, linking them to her belt and ensuring their secure riding position.
She turns back to her dragon expectedly. Though he remains rested on the grass.
"Up Atlas, your wings won't fly themselves" Atlas lifts his head as if he'll get up but instead he rolls onto his side. To then widen his jaw awaiting the said food.
"You are so lazy" she narrows her eyes at Atlas "lazy and spoilt" She notes glancing at him, shaking her head. As she walks over to the cliff. Throughts swirl in her mind as she glances down the large cliff.
"What if I were to fall right now?" she gives the dragon a curious look. "would you get up?" Her eyes locked with his sole working, maroon eye. Atlas closes his large jaw to give her a side eye. Her boot is halfway over the edge as she allows herself too lean to it.
Atlas glaring at his suicidal rider as he snorts out a breathe mockingly. He rolls onto his back, allowing the sun to shine in him more. 'Do it' his eyes seem to say before he closes his eyes.
She sighs at her disinterested dragon. "I thought we could go for a swim, in the ocean, the water looks perfect"
Swim. Ocean. Water. Three of Atlas's favorite word. Though he remains stubborn, eyes kept closed.
A smiles takes over her features as she sees Atlas's large tail begin thumping against the earth. "got you"
He may look like he didn't care but he sure does love the sea.
Atlas gives in, squinting his eye at her, to catch her body leaning over the edge. Her body get pulled down by gravity and off the cliff.
Hues of blue melt together as the view of the crashing icy waves below grow nearer. The smell of the salty sea stuffs her nostrils, it's refreshing and nostalgic. The wind slipping along her skin.
When she's meer centimeters away from the crashing waves, basically tasting the salty sea, she's swept up and away by a cold scaled body. They bolt towards the sky. Soon he's gliding amongst the clouds as her hair is fleely dancing in the wind.
She laughs. Her carefree laughter intermingles with the wind. As they both get closer amongst the clouds, being that much more closer to the sun.
Higher they go, racing towards realm where gravity loses its grip.
A realm of true boundlessness.
