Alluka had followed the first quarter or so of the conversation, but at some point she realized that the conversation had gone somewhere that she could no longer even try to follow. If it were any reassurance, it seemed that Kalluto/little brother was also lagging behind a bit.
If they didn't know better, they would think that that statement was meant for someone else entirely. The difference was that Alluka was confused because she had no idea what they were talking about, and she had also momentarily gotten distracted by a stray leaf. Kalluto was most likely just confused because he was too proud to ask.
Killua seemed to notice his siblings feeling left out, "Do you guys have any questions?" This is why we love him. Alluka thought fondly.
Kalluto blinked, taking this chance to ask whatever was on his mind, "What happens after we get the medal?"
"We get sent to our next world. Though I cannot say when and where exactly." Aria stated.
"Which is?" Killua interjected, sounding surprisingly patient. Then again, when was Killua not demonstrating such amazing kindness? Alluka smiled internally.
"It's a world called Demon Slayer." Aria paused, not bothering to continue her answer. Even Alluka had picked up on the fact that at least one Zoldyck was going to input their own opinion, regardless of whether Aria was finished or not.
"Let me guess," Killua sighed, "you slay demons."
"That's the demon slayer's job, you guys don't have to worry about safety there, having Nen and all. Just watch out for anyone who resembles Micheal Jackso-I meant demons with numbers in their eyes and this one guy I'll tell you about later." Aria explained, her eyes twitching out of annoyance and fatigue.
There was a long moment of silence where Killua and Kalluto shared a look, before both nodding, making Alluka frown, not wanting to be left out. But since she couldn't think of anything smart to say, she kept her mouth shut.
Noticing his little sister's discomfort, Killua mouthed 'Ill explain to you later' which earned him an appraising grin. Alluka then got distracted by the curtain and phased out another part of the talk.
By the time she refocused, the conversation must have ended. Aria was ordering take out, and Killua and Kalluto were on a computer redesigning their hero costume, neither of them looking happy about it. If anything, they looked peeved. Even Kalluto/little brother, who was normally quite respectful of Aria, was shooting her a dirty look.
Oh wow, what did I miss? Alluka straightened as she saw Aria begin to approach her.
"Alluka," she requested with a small smile on the corner of her lips , "Is it alright if we make some changes to your hero costume?"
Alluka nodded dumbly, though she caught Killua grimacing. Aria shot a look at big brother before giving an amused scoff and leading Alluka to her laptop.
"Sit." Alluka obliged, her curiosity rising as she sat down while Aria flipped open her laptop. She then began tinkering with it while occasionally checking to make sure that Alluka wasn't distracted. Eventually, they reached a website which the UA logo on the corner and an avatar of a person on the screen.
"Hey Aria! That's me!" Alluka pointed at the screen, which was showing her in her hero costume.
"Right," Aria nodded, "are you okay if I make a couple changes for practicality?" When Alluka gave her a grin, she let out a fond sigh, "Alright. Make sure to tell me if there's a disagreement for any of my changes."
The weekend flew by just like that. After making some changes in the costume (as mentioned in the previous chapter), Alluka was practicing Zetsu when she heard some voices getting louder in the other room. Alluka beamed, ever since she had started learning Nen, her senses have become significantly more enhanced.
The voices seemed to be saying something, and despite the eavesdropping being rude, Alluka knew for a fact that everyone in this apartment did it in a daily basis. It was only fair, at the end of the day, that she could also do it.
Staying in Zetsu and leaning closer to the door, Alluka could faintly make out Aria and Kalluto talking. A while ago, Alluka had tried to pin down everyone's relationships with eachother on a chart, but midway through she had realized she had mixed Kalluto with Aria and a bunch of other things which resulted in her crumpling up the paper and throwing in the trash. But at least she had tried.
From what Alluka could somewhat recall, (she was rather impressed by how much she remembered), the two of them seemed to have some sort of mutual courtesy to each other. Alluka didn't have much personal experience with relationships in that regard. Alluka received a lot of love, but not a lot of respect. She was unsure whether she wanted to either, since respect came with expectations, and from what Alkuka had seen from Big Brother to run from the place he had been born, then grow to hate it.
It could just be Allukas imagination, but everyone else, at home and UA both seemed to have complicated relations with expectations. Huh. Maybe she could make a chart about that!
Oh! She got distracted, Alluka redirected her attention again and continued to eavesdrop.
"I've told you before, but I don't think we should let Alluka participate in this tournament. If she gets hurt...Killua will skin us alive." Kalluto sighed, sounding apathetic and tired.
"Hah," Aria scoffed, "I'd like to see him try. Alluka needs real life experience, the girl is more sheltered than Rapunzel. Not to mention that she's excelling at her Nen practice so far, which will put her above most UA students. You don't need to worry about her."
"I'm not-" Kalluto responded, sounding like he was about to say something else.
"Sure. Alright, are there any other objections you have?" Aria was rather talented at debate was she? Lucky that she's Alluka's sister then! Though Alluka wondered why Aria hadn't just made her and Big Brother siblings instead.
"...no," Kalluto said in a voice of defeat.
"You're lying, but whatever. Shall we go back to reviewing the other students' quirks now?" Alluka heads the rustling of papers.
The conversation became boring from that point on, and Alluka went back to focusing on her Nen.
A/N: wow, this chapter flew by. (If you couldn't tell Aria basically just told Killua and Kalluto that their hero outfits were yk) I have like two inputs in which world to do, The Promised Neverland, Bungo Stray Dogs, or Attack on Titan.
Completely unrelated, but I am emotionally recovering from watching Oshi No Ko and reading BSD manga and Demon Slayer manga, so I'll be taking a break.
