With my head buried in my locker I flip through the novel I've been reading

Lost in the wind

Cliché name, I know but sometimes clichés are needed to remind you of what your missing. I do crave a relationship just like Tommy and Ruth

The main characters

But will I ever get one? I munch on the potato chip I took out of it's bag. I kept a bag of potato chips in my locker for two days, don't worry I close it so air won't get in. That's a good thing right?

It's a bad habit I have, that and reading books in my locker like some creep. My friends have gotten used to walking in on me looking like I got shot when I was about to leave my locker and my head just slumped there. I sometimes try to picture myself in third person and yeah it does look creepy but I don't really care.

As I read about how Ruth runs down the stairs calling out for Tom who has already left for the airport.

Ahhh, the classic airport scene

Shit that means I'm close to the ending!

I feel someone grope my ass in a gentle but still pervy way.

The fuck?

I'm forced to look away from my book and leave the darkness of my locker as I turn to the bright hallway. Zeke is standing next to me, with a dirty smirk on his face.

Guess I found the culprit.

Still a little unsettling but I'm relieved it isn't someone else.

Wait. Zeke? I thought he wasn't talking to me

"Hey" I start off. He holds my chin in his palm and leans in to peck me on the lip. Guess I should get used to this.

"Hey"

"Sorry about the other day, my mum was actually worried sick"

"No problem, can't stay mad at you." He concludes and smiles. "You free after school, or you have an errand to run?"

I know he is mocking me but I push it aside cause I do have an errand to run.

"Well..."

"Here it comes" he runs his hand through his hair and puts his head down.

"I promised Reggie I'll help him baby sit his sisters."

He looks back at me with an almost disgusted look on his face. "Baby sitting? Really?"

"I promised" I barely say, I feel bullied.

"With Reggie? The guy that likes you. I don't trust him, you guys shouldn't be hanging out together"

What the freak?

"He's my best friend, we have been hanging out together for a long time.  And you can't be sure he likes me"

"Don't be so naive. Do you even want to be with me?" He drops the question, making me feel like the villain.

"Y... yes" it comes out like a question, with this conversation we are having right now do I really?

But I'll regret my answer for the rest of my life if I say no

"Then why, why are you making it so hard?"

"Cause I have to baby sit?" That's the simple answer.

"Don't play dumb"

And the bell saves again. It furiously rings again, telling us to go to class.
