The proposal

The sun had set over 2Fort, and the only sounds were the distant echoes of rockets and grenades. Soldier paced back and forth in his barracks, his mind racing with nerves and excitement. He had planned this moment out meticulously, down to the tiniest detail, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something might go wrong.

He took a deep breath and looked down at the small velvet box in his hand. Inside was a ring, a simple yet elegant band of gold with a small diamond in the center. He had spent months searching for the perfect ring, something that would show Demoman how much he meant to him.

Soldier had always known he was attracted to men, but he had never acted on those feelings until he met Demoman. Something about the Scottish mercenary drew him in, and before he knew it, he was head-over-heels in love.

He had been planning to propose for weeks, but he wanted to wait for the right moment. And tonight, as he watched the sunset over 2Fort, he knew that this was it.

With a deep breath, he made his way to Demoman's barracks. As he approached, he could hear the sound of bagpipes playing inside. He smiled to himself - Demoman was always playing his bagpipes, even when he was off-duty.

He knocked on the door, and after a moment, Demoman answered. He looked surprised to see Soldier standing there.

"Soldier? What's going on?" he asked.

Soldier took a deep breath and got down on one knee. He held out the small velvet box and opened it to reveal the ring.

"Demoman," he said, his voice shaking with emotion. "I've been wanting to ask you this for a long time. Will you marry me?"

Demoman looked shocked for a moment, but then a smile spread across his face.

"Of course I will, Soldier," he said, taking the ring from the box and slipping it onto his finger. "I love you."

Soldier stood up and wrapped his arms around Demoman , pulling him into a tight embrace. He could feel tears streaming down his face, but he didn't care. He was finally with the man he loved, and nothing else mattered.
