"You can't be serious, mother?! Why send me back to Donna? She has that little doll..." Irene asked while tailing behind Miranda as she watched her write down notes in an old journal. There wasn't any way she would ever go back to that horrible house especially with Angie around. All Miranda could do was smirk and continue to do her work while the red head fretted over her fears.
"You need to spend a little more time with Donna and get to know her. Plus you need to face those fears don't you, my pet? I'm sure you can get along with them just fine if you just stayed there for a while."
"It's not getting along that's the problem...that doll is creepy...She moves around like a real person..." She shuddered at the thought and leaned against the table, looking at the floor. Was there a reason Miranda didn't need her right now? Had she done something wrong? Irene looked at her from the side, trying to figure out what bothered her mistress and why she was so much more focused on work today. It wasn't unusual for Miranda to work but today was a different exception. Every chance Irene got to talk with her, Miranda would avoid her like the plague. It was like this ever since she got back from being with Alcina. Quiet. No communication. Not even any demands to sleep with her in the bed. Miranda wasn't herself right now and that bothered Irene at most. "Have I done something to make you upset...?"
She put down the pen and sighed, Miranda pinching the bridge of her nose with her fingers in frustration. Her icy blue eyes stared at Irene, crossing her arms to go with it and stood there in silence. It wasn't till Irene tried to say something else that Miranda interrupted her with a finger to her lips. "Well if you weren't such a harlot I would be able to look at you."
"A harlot?! Your family is the one wanting to toy with me! I can't do anything because of that necklace. You won't even look at me Miranda!" Tears were falling down Irene's face as she turned to face Miranda, the other woman trying her best to not give into her pets cries. She wanted Irene to suffer like she did. Her face didn't budge and Miranda only went back to her work at hand.
"Sure sure. You know that necklace only enhances your primal thoughts not your feelings, my love. I can't look at you right now and honestly I don't want to do something I'll regret, so go to Donna's for a bit. I'll send for you when I'm ready to see you again. If you go anywhere else well...I'll stop regretting what I want to do..."
Irene stood there, tears continuously falling down her face and looking at the ground now that Miranda had turned away. She realized how that this was all her fault and the reason Miranda wouldn't acknowledge her existence was because of how Irene acted with Alcina. This was all about feelings? Over another person who she cared about?
"What about me? Aren't I too valuable to give up...? Isn't that what this whole thing was about the entire time...? Don't I mean something to you Miranda...?" Irene controlled her sobs and didn't budge her body at all, eyes still at the ground from the shock. Miranda didn't move either but she stopped working, listening to Irene's words. She wanted to break so badly but this wouldn't be a punishment if she had. This wasn't going to break her in front of the girl. She refused.
"That's why I'm telling you to go before I decide to break you in half...Give me some time to...to compose myself..." Miranda struggled with her words but she had to say them. It was the only way for Irene to get out of there before she did actually hurt her. She couldn't do that to someone she cared about. With those words, Irene backed away slowly and ran out of the area still crying. After she left, Miranda knelt down and rested her head on the table, shaking uncontrollably herself. It hurt her just as much to push Irene away like this. "I'm sorry, my love...Just give me some time..."

Irene ran down the path outside, through the village, and then back through a few places until she reached the foggy area close to Donna's home. Stopping for a moment Irene had to catch her breath. She'd been running since she left Miranda and couldn't take anymore. Falling to the ground on her knee exhausted, Irene knew she had a little ways to go before reaching Donna's house. She couldn't get her mind off of Miranda and how she was acting toward her back there. It was out of character for her to be that way. There wasn't anything Irene could do right now but go to Donna Beneviento. If she didn't Miranda would do worse than hurt her feelings. Irene managed to pick herself up off the ground and continued on down the foggy path, eventually coming upon the abandoned old house she once visited before. She knew what would be waiting there: Angie the creepy doll and her owner Donna. Opening the door, Irene walked in slowly and closed the door behind her quietly. It was so silent in the house. Maybe Donna had went out for the evening. Looking around this time and not thinking of it she wandered around the house, going into the room where she seen the large mannequin laying on the table before. As Irene entered the room she saw Donna sitting there working on the mannequin. She was working diligently and focused. Angie sitting on the table trying to help hand tools to the veiled woman. It was the first time Irene saw Donna in her element, fixing a doll carefully and paying attention to every detail.
"Is there something you need, Irene? Has Miranda sent you for me again?"
Irene was shocked at how Donna knew who it was, wondering how to say this. "She uh...told me to come stay with you a few days...Miranda...she..."
The tears flowed down her face freely and Angie looked up to see Irene crying. The little doll moved over to tug at Donna's sleeve and the woman turned as she quit working. She saw the girl crying and got up from her chair, walking over to wipe Irene's eyes gently with her fingers. "Hey it's fine. I understand. Something must have happened between you two to have Miranda send you here. If I know her she'll get over it eventually."
Again touches from a woman set Irene's primal instincts on fire but Donna wasn't looking for that with her. Even if she did, Donna didn't seem the type to forcefully take what she wanted. Irene could feel something different between her and Donna, something better and not as forced as what would be between her and Miranda. Donna pulled Irene in closer, rubbing her back gently and holding her in a soft hug. "I'm sorry to inconvenience you like this, Donna."
"It isn't any issue, Irene. If you're going to stay here, you and I may as well get to know each other. It would be nice to have human company here as well. I don't normally get a lot of visitors." Her hands played with Irene's red hair, feeling the natural curls with each strand and enjoying the closeness of human contact. It had been a long time since Miranda did the same with her as a child. Maybe now it was her turn to love on someone who needed her compassion? Irene clung to Donna like a little child and buried her face into her chest. She felt safe and comfortable there. Angie walked over the mannequin on the table and made her way over to the two having their moment. Donna reached over to grab the doll, Angie giving Irene a bit of a small hug before speaking. "We really don't. We're kind of by ourselves out here."
"She's right. We don't have anyone here. Just me and Angie. Now you're here and we can actually get to know someone. Someone who isn't in this village. We can be our own little family for a while." Irene still clinging to Donna gave a nod, fingers clutching her black dress tightly. All she wanted was for Miranda to look at her but that wasn't going to happen for a while. She may as well stay here with Donna and Angie, gain their love and trust, and then maybe Irene has a new part of her family to care about like Alcina mentioned. "What do you say my little doll? We'll be a perfect family."
"I'll stay. I want to get to know you and make you part of my family. I know that sounds weird but I do..." This made Donna smile under her veil. Truly happy for once that she has someone to care for just like she was once. Someone who needed her love. Angie was set down on the table and Donna pulled back her veil halfway, kissing Irene gently on the lips as she pulled her closer. When Donna pulled away from the kiss, Irene could see half of her beautiful face smiling gently and her dark eye staring back with a little bit of light. Her pale face was colored a light pink from embarrassment but Donna knew she could be comfortable around Irene. "It's not weird at all, my little doll. Come now. Let's go get some hot tea to drink and we can sit in here. I'll show you how I work in my home. We can get to know each other if you wish."
Donna gained a nod from Irene and took her by the hand, Angie following after them close behind.
