Priya took a deep breath, embracing the salty smell of the sea. She closed her eyes, her head tilted to the sun. It was nice. Andrew, however, was feeling the exact opposite. The team decided to have a beach day together. All of them in their swimsuits. The sun wasn't Andrew's favorite part.
"We should hit the beach everyday!" M'gann said pointing at the water in front of them, excitement clear in her voice and face.
"First a moment of silence for our absent comrade." Dick said with his hand on his face. Half of the team also looked down in sympathy, the other half laughed at the poor sucker.
"Poor Wally." M'gann said, making Priya roll her eyes playfully. Wally's first day of high school was today. Priya was in a private school that started later then his, Dick's also started later along with Cori. The others didn't go to school. So Wally was the only one absent.
Priya does feel bad for him, and sad that she didn't get to see him surfing because he bragged about how great he was, for no reason. But also, maybe a beach day away from his annoying voice will help her.
"Now that that's over..." Fleur said walking away from the group before turning with a wide grin. "Let's have some fun."
Throughout the day they surfed, played chicken, almost killed one another, piled sand on top of Superboy, and overall had a good day. But they did all have to admit it felt slightly weird without Wally. He was the energetic one after all.
Too soon the sun started to set, causing them all to have to go back into the cave. The day made them all relaxed, then the trouble started.
Half of them wouldn't call it trouble, well, the heroes wouldn't call it trouble. The others however. When you've been in a team for a few months and everything had been working fine, then they bring someone new in.. you have the right to be suspicious.
Priya tried to trust people like Wally or Cori would. She didn't want to always judge someone the minute she meets them, even if she had reason too. But as a hero, who does need a team, she is trying to keep an open mind.
When Green Arrow walked into the room with a blonde girl, her face covered similar to Dick and Priya's, she didn't know what to think. Her name turned out to be Artemis, but all Priya could think about was that she wanted Wally to be standing next to her.
He had always been the social one, the reason she spoke up. Priya wasn't shy, not one bit. She was more cautious, so when Wally would talk and crack a joke it would help Priya relax. Cori and Dick were also usually helpful, but they couldn't do it like Wally.
Artemis seemed fine, didn't give off anything too suspicious, only that she wouldn't show her face to them. It would be hypocritical for Priya to judge her on that. However, Fleur could judge her freely, in her mind.
