Chapter 16

(Yay. Nene pov!)

  "ℍey Kou-kun! I was expecting this to go to voice mail since you're busy with your sister, but since you picked up This will be easier. I have a plan relating to my special admirer."

   To get her mind off of Hanako's antics she spent her walk home she shifted her mind towards the mystery of her love letters. Eventually she came up with her perfect idea to figure out who it was. If they wouldn't tell her themself, she'd need to figure it out on her own.

   "No worries senpai! My sister is watching some magic girl anime on tv, so I can chill for a while. So, tell me this plan of yours. I'm curious!" He wasn't lying, the sounds of a sparkly transformation music could be heard in the backround.

  "Alright, alright. So, I'm pretty sure the letters end up in my locker before or after classes. Meaning, if we were to come early, we might catch 'em in the act! Boom! I get myself a significant other!"

   She shot an excited fist into the air with a big grin on her face, even though the blonde was nowhere near her. The only living being in the same room as her was her hamster. It was currantly resting, meaning by nightfall it would be full of energy to run in its wheel all through the night to terrorize her. It was a miracle she got any sleep at all.

  "Haha, sounds fun. You sure they do it in the morning? What if they do it after school hours instead?" His sister occasionally could be heard giving loud 'yays' and 'whoahs'. It was quite cute.

  "Um.. Well, then we could just stay after school too! That's if your not busy. I know you do the chores around your house, other than cooking of course!" She smiled at his supposed lack of skill in cooking. "Other than cooking? But- Oh. Nevermind. Yeah. Still don't have the hang of it. And yeah, they're letting big bro off tommorow as an apology for calling him out so sudden, so it should be good." He awkwardly laughed.

  "Alright! See you tommorow then! Goodbye!"  She hung up before he could say goodbye himself. "Hear that sir hamster? Operation find the identity of my admirer is underway!"

  Honestly she should be quieter as to not concern her parents, but it didn't matter much anyways. Mostly since they were already concerned after parent teacher meetings. Where her professors decided to ask her parents if she was okay since she kept spending lots of time in the bathrooms during lunch and after classes. A little of it may have been about how often she talked to Hanako-kun and how they thought she was talking to herself.

    The next day they arrived at school early. And this time, instead of the energetic blonde heading to the junior-high division he went to the highschool one to meet with Nene. "Hello! Quick! C'mon lets hide in an empty classroom nearby my locker!" She dragged him to the closest room before he could even reply. Once inside, she closed the door and tossed her backpack to the side ready to wait. "Wait? Why do you have your bag with you?" He just stared at the pack that had multiple keychains of characters popular between teenage girls as well as a few random ones with bows and such.

"Hm? That's 'coz they can't know I'm in the building, if they saw my bag it'd be a big giveaway!" She rocked her heels back and forth while staring out the window. "Want some candy? I've got a whole bag of 'em chilling in here for mokke. My bro don't like the furry things too much but me and my sis don't mind them. Also they're just a nice snack."

  He said as he unzipped his backpack and pulled out a back of assorted candies. There was chocolate, lolipops, caramel candies fit for old ladies, and even taffy. He gave her the bag before taking some for himself. She shoved a few chocolate ones in her mouth before saying, "mmm! they'wr jwust so gwood!" He couldn't help but laugh. "pfft. Don't talk with your mouth full silly!"

   They sat there for a while, no sight of anything. They were both getting tired so they switched to just hanging out. "My summer vegetables are coming along great! I'll have to make a salad for you and Hanako-kun to try!" Kou then put another candy in his mouth. "You'd better like it too! Being one of the only gardening club members means I raised those beauties with lots of effort!" She threatened him.

   "Haha, of course of course! Maybe you should give some salad to that currantly non-existent admirer of yours like you did my brother!" Her lightly nudged her in the arm. "Ughh. Don't remind me of that failure! Wait- how'd you find out!" She exclaimed. "Ahhhm... Oh would you look at that, about time I go to my division... My classes are going to start in a bit and I still gotta put my bag away!"

He then made a quick escape before she had a chance to pry further.

   Hamsters are nocturnal! I remember hearing that somewhere. They are actually really cute, I knew someone who had one. I had one myself as a really young kid. That poor thing...

  Also I had to look through the manga volumes to make sure I got my time of events right lol.

   Double update today for an apology of my updating inconsistancies! Also, I suppose this chapter satisfies people who ship Kou and Nene? I swear it's a hananene fic lol.
