I was listening to Come What May and I decided to write this story.
The skys were dark when Kurt looked up. He closed his eyes again, thinking about Blaine. He left tonight, to go on a quest to find his true love, and Kurt had to hold himself back from crying when he watched Blaine leave, but when he left, he ran to the familiar hill, sobs escaping him until the night dawned. He looked up at the starry skies wondering whether Blaine would find the girl to marry. He was the prince afterall, and he had to find a wife. Kurt realised that he had always been hopeful, thinking that Blaine would return his feelings, though he knew it was silly. He was silly.
He sat where he was, and didn't even think about leaving, even when the wind began to get cold. He merely wrapped his coat closer to him and looked down at the small town. The lights were glowing and beautiful. He remembered sitting here with Blaine a while ago, looking down at the lights when he told him that he was going to miss him when he leaves.
"I miss you too..." Kurt chokes to himself. He held his knees to his chest and tears trailed down his face to his lap, leaving a trail. "I love you." Kurt said. But he was alone on this starry night, staying until early morning arrived.
His skin was pale and he looked defeated, eyes casting down wards. The town was still asleep, so no one noticed Kurt walking in his home.
Kurt and Blaine were always best friends, but Kurt fell in love with Blaine when they grew up, while Blaine speaks of finding his love one day. Kurt knew that he shouldn't tell Blaine, for fear of scaring him away. He has lost so much already. His mother died from pneumonia, and his father died from a heartattack, the next death in the hummel family would be him. Blaine took care of him, and visited him to keep him company, but lately he had been really distant, absorbed in finding the fairytale ending he had always dreamed.
They have always dreamed of.
But that was not going to happen to Kurt. Kurt, ofcourse, wants Blaine to be happy, and if it means watching him wed a girl and being there for him, then he'll do it. It's not like the town will be happy if He and Blaine were couples.
For the next week that passed, Kurt didn't get anybetter, but hoped that he would one day. He doubted that though, even when he walked through the market and spotted Adam. The boy smiled at him and walked over to talk to him, asking to take him to a show. It wasn't formal courting, but the idea lingers. Kurt watched a theatre show called Les Miserable. He can't help thinking that he was eponine, waiting for his end.
The next month passed and Blaine came back. When Kurt woke up that morning, he was hyperventailating. He was both scared and happy, sad and grateful. All he knows was that Blaine made it back, so he was okay. He probably found his bride to be too. Kurt could hear the crowd sing outside his house, and agaisnt his will, he peaked outside. Blaine was on a horse, smiling a wide smile, his hair curly. He waved a hand to the crowd and Kurt gulped.
He could feel the pain of the past month began to seep through and he shut the door, crying again, like he did so many times before. He sobbed and when he finally stopped, he heard a knock on his door. wiping his eyes, he opened the door.
"Hello." He croaked, opening to door.
To his surprise Blaine stood there, with the crowd behind him. How long had he been standing there? Kurt forced himself to smiled and greeted Blaine.
"Hi Blaine! I am glad you came back! How was your quest?" His voice was so cheery it made even himself want to cringe.
Blaine seemed to agree and spoke.
"Erm... it was good." He said.
"Just good?" Kurt asked, a little sad. " Didn't you find her?"
"Her? Oh, the girl. Yeah, about that...' Blaine said.
Blaine went down on one knee and the crowd gasped. Kurt looked at him like he was an alien from outer space. Blaine pulled out a box and Kurt's eyes widened. No. It couldn't be. Blaine smiled dashingly and Kurt turned red from the eyes on him. He was even more flustered when Blaine opened the box to reveal a ring. A whole lot of emotion came flowing in and Kurt started tearing up again, but he couldn't stop himself from smiling.
"Will you marry me Kurt?" Blaine asked.
The crowd muttered.
" Impossible, no, it's it's mad."
The prince. A-a boy!"
Blaine ignored it and waited for Kurt to answer. Kurt looked at him as if to find a source of doubt. There was none, and Kurt found the voice he lost.
"Y-yes." Kurt said.
Blaine smiled wider than ever and picked Kurt up twirling him around. Kurt wasn't sure what was happening, but he stood there.
"Y-you can't." Kurt said, Blaine looked at him.
"What do you mean?"
"You, me, I am a-a boy... you're a prince." Kurt said. "This doesn't happen in fairytales Blaine. "
Blaine smiled and took Kurt's hand.
"The two love each other, right? In stories?"
"Well... yes." Kurt replied.
"You love me right?"
"Yes."
"It's like a fairytale. I don't care Kurt. I just want to be with you. I realise that I can never love another, because I missed and loved you the whole time." Blaine said.
Kurt smiled and the two kissed. They knew it was forever and they both got married after a huge argument and war. The two lived happily ever after.
Never knew I could feel like this
Like I've never seen the sky before
Want to vanish inside your kiss
Everyday I love you more and more
Listen to my heart, can you hear it sings
Telling me to give you everything
Seasons may change winter to spring
But I love you until the end of time
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you
And there's no mountain too high no river too wide
Sing out this song and I'll be there by your side
Storm clouds may gather and stars may collide
But I love you until the end of time
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
Oh come what may, come what may
I will love you
Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place...
Come what may, come what may
I will love you until my dying day
