Ever since he first entered McKinley high in his favorite pair of Doc Martens and a new shirt from Armani, he knew he was an outcast. This realization quickly dawned upon him when a couple of jocks threw four slushieson him simultaneously without missing a beat. This being his first experience with this particular use of cold beverages, he was stood paralysed in his spot, his wit betraying him.

"Welcome to Mckinley high, princess."

And that was his introduction to the many torturous years to come. It was also the day he met Rachel Berry and Mercedes Jones, both of who were in the Glee club.

He had been making his way to the bathroom, drenched in cherry and raspberry flavored ice that were slowly starting to seep in to his clothes. Unfortunately, he didn't really know where the bathroom is, so he had to explore the halls in his state and bear the humiliation.

It didn't take a long time for the anger to start expressing itself in Kurt's mind. He was practically gnashing his teeth as he glared at anyone a four feet distance from him with the furiosity of a a provoked mother eagle.

For some miraculous reason, he ended up in the girl's bathroom. He didn't mean to, and he had no idea where he was even going, but horror dawned upon him when he walked in to face a group of screaming girls (fully dressed, thank God), running at the door and glaring at him. One of them even slapped him.

When his mind finally returned to him, he turned around and yelled, "I don't even play for your team!"

That was the second mistake he made that day.

When he turned around he found that there were still two girls there, but to his relief, they weren't screaming. Instead, they were looking at him with sympathy.

"Hey boo. I'm Mercedes. Let me guess. You're new." said the African-American girl, Kurt nodded

Rachel seemed to recognize his uneasiness and smiled. "Don't worry, there aren't any other girls who are going to be coming back for a while. I'm Rachel, by the way."

"Kurt Hummel." replied Kurt, feeling awkward.

"Cherry Flavour is the worse." stated Mercedes, scrunching up her nose.

Kurt raised his eyebrow. "I take it this is a regular occurence here? Shouldn't someone report to the principal?"

Rachael looked strained. "Kurt, Principal Figgins doesn't really do anything about it. Welcome to high school..."

Mercedes led him to the sink and helped him clean the slushy off, but notified him that his shirt couldn't be saved, something Kurt was very much aware of.

They became close friends and joined Glee club together in sophomore year. By then, Kurt was accustomed to the slushies, locker slams, and dumpster tosses, but it doesn't help his hostility to that part of the school.

He met a couple of other people, and together, they became of group of unlikely family. Or something like that.

But the dumpster tosses escalated, and the blunt pain of the locker slams increased, until Kurt couldn't really ignore it anymore. What's worse is that when he goes to this family of his, all they care about was the songs, sectionals, and mashups that Kurt couldn't even feel like a part of.
