The sound of laughter was in the air. Kamagasaki was a rough place to live. The buildings were falling a part, the roads and sidewalks were cracked with several potholes, and nature has overtaken many areas. Crime is natural in towns like Kamagasaki. Even though the town is falling a part, it is one of the most populated towns in Japan. Cities are taken better care of while the towns are usually forgotten, like Kamagasaki.

A little girl with a brown bob cut, wide brown eyes, and a permanent blush on her cheeks was laughing on the rusted swing in her school's playground. Her name is Ochaco Uraraka. She is a very lively child and makes the most of what she has. Both her parents run a construction company, but they haven't gotten business and have little money. Ochaco wants to help her parents the best she can, so she wants to become a hero to make money for them, to see them smile. Ochaco had many friends, but her main friends were sick today, so she was playing alone.

"OW!"

Ochaco stopped swinging and looked behind her, spotting an old man holding his ankle, sitting on the ground. Ochaco looked around her, making sure that a teacher wasn't nearby, and ran towards the old man. Ochaco grabbed his wrinkled hand, kneeling in front of him.

"Are you alright?" she asked him, concern written over her face. The old man smiled behind his thin glasses.

"I just stepped in a hole wrong, little one," he told her with a wave of his hand. "You should go back to your fun."

Ochaco pouted. Her grip on his hand tightened slightly.

"I'm not going to leave you here to just get robbed!" she told him, glancing around the area. Trees were all around them besides the schoolyard Ochaco came from.

"How old are you?" the old man asked, adjusting his glasses.

"6!" Ochaco exclaimed with a bright smile.

"Do you want to be a hero?" he asked, a small smile forming on his face.

"Yes!" Ochaco exclaimed, her eyes sparkling. "I could be a great rescue hero because of my grad-gravity quirk!"

The old man slowly nodded, a frown on his face. He grabbed Ochaco by her forearms and stood up, holding Ochaco off the ground. Ochaco gasped and her eyes widened, watching the old man. His skin was melting from his body. She opened her mouth to scream, but the "old man" put a hand over it, grinning.

"I'll have to kill you if you scream," a younger man's voice whispered into Ochaco's ear. Only small clumps of melted skin was on the "old man" now, revealing a younger man, around his mid 30's. He had dark skin, long gray hair that was tied into a low ponytail by a black ribbon, and sharp black eyes.

The ground under the man and Ochaco gave way and they fell.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVEN'T SEEN OUR DAUGHTER?!" a man with dirty blonde hair shouted, slamming his fists onto the principal's desk.

"We haven't seen your daughter since recess, Mr. Uraraka," the principal, Ms. Watanabe, told the worried father, stacking the papers he scattered from his outburst. She folded her hands in front of her and looked into his eyes. "But I assure you that we are trying our best to find your daughter. We already called the police and a few pros to help out."

Mr. Uraraka wasn't satisfied with the principal's answer, but he knew that was the best he could hope for. He glanced at the chair beside him. His wife was crying silently, a hand in front of her mouth. He took the step it took to be by her side and knelt down. He stared into her face before opening his arms, inviting her. Mrs. Uraraka jumped into his arms and hid her face in his chest, trembling. Anything could've happened to their daughter. Not knowing was the worst part...

Ochaco slowly opened her eyes and looked around her. She was in something that looked similar to a hospital room. She was strapped to a large chair that dentists used. She tried to wiggle her way out, but the straps started to give her rashes. Ochaco looked around her, but everything was too far away for her to do something. She was trapped.

There were footsteps.

A man with a beak mask walked into the room with more men with beak masks, pulling at his gloves.

"What do you want to do with her, Overhaul?" one of the doctors asked, standing

"Product 15," he said, staring at Ochaco. The other men looked at each other, their eyes concerned, then nodded and quickly moved around the room. Overhaul continued to stare at Ochaco, not blinking. "This might hurt a bit..."

Ochaco was trembling in her seat, her eyes wide and filled with tears that were about to come out.

"... but it's for the greater good..."
