Rescue Pt. 3: Overhaul's End

"YOU BRAT!" Overhaul shouted at the giant shadow bird that circled him, sending hundreds of spikes towards her. "YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!"

She just dodged the spikes, a low growl escaping her sharp beak.

RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

She flew high into the air as fast as a jet. Overhaul's eyes widened and then narrowed into a glare. He lowered the pillar and stood up, looking around him. He spotted multiple bodies around him. He walked up to one, crouched down, and put his hand on his shoulder. The unknown man exploded into thousands of particles and floated around Overhaul. He glanced at the particles before looking at the giant shadow bird in the sky. The particles circled around him, creating a tornado, and collected more bodies.

The giant bird looked down to see something to form. She narrowed her glowing red eyes.

"O... 0verhau|..."

RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

A giant shadow bird dove towards a giant creature made of flesh that jumped towards it. They only had one thought in their minds.

DESTROY THE OTHER

They bashed heads, glaring at each other. The shadow bird started to overtake Overhaul's creature of flesh. He glanced at the ground before reaching out to touch her. She picked up on this and flew away, leaving Overhaul to crash into the ground. Dust flew into the sky while a giant shadow bird circled above it. The heroes that were outside looked up at the scene in shock before preparing to fight it off. But they didn't get the chance.

A spiked clump of flesh flew into the sky and crashed into the face of the bird, causing her to screech in pain. 

The dust had partially cleared and Overhaul could be seen. His left hand was bloody as well as the side of his head. He stood on the platform of flesh that cushioned his fall. His yellow eyes narrowed at the bird he was too much acquainted with.

"Such a pain..." he mumbled, placing a hand on the platform under him. A slightly smaller version of the flesh creature he created before stood up, looking towards the shadow bird that had finally got the clump of flesh off her face. She glared at Overhaul, her feathers starting to ruffle.

RRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!

The shadow bird flew towards the creature of flesh like last time, but Overhaul didn't make a move. He didn't even sweat from how quickly the distance was shrinking. He kept his glare, unblinking. She got closer and closer. But, when she was about to grab him in her talons, spikes of flesh pierced her talon. She screeched and tried to fly away, but she was slammed onto the ground.

It had been a minute or two and she still hadn't moved.

Overhaul smirked.

"I thought you would've been strong, but-" he interrupted himself with a crazed laugh, "-you're JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!"

His laughing continued as he slowly walked towards the shadow bird. He had calmed down halfway down her body and started to inspect it.

"You would've been helpful to the Yakuza, but you were told lies of hope!" he chuckled, stopping by her head. Her eyes were closed and her beak open. He couldn't feel her breath. "Now you're dead. Just like subject #3... or... Miss Taya Kubo..."

Suddenly, her eyes opened wide and her beak closed shut. Overhaul's eyes widened in shock as her pitch black talons flew towards him. He barely turned his head before he was pierced through the stomach. He coughed up blood, his body trembling. He slowly, and painfully, lifted his head to see giant, wide, glowing red eyes staring at him. She had lifted her head, towering above him. Overhaul started to sweat. He didn't know if it was because of his fatigue or because of how scared he was.

She wasn't-

She quickly pulled her talon from Overhaul's stomach, blood pouring from the wound. He fell to the floor and laid there, still staring at the monster above him. Pitch black feathers slowly came off of her body and circled her. More and more feathers joined until you could only see a giant pitch black cocoon. It slowly shrunk and the feathers flew away in every which direction, revealing a brown haired girl. She dropped to her knees and spotted Overhaul. Her eyes widened slightly before she slumped to the ground, unconscious.

... breathing...

Overhaul's eyes dulled and his body went limp.

He was gone...
