The moon.
A blatant circle in the sky that makes you feel both despair, hope, melancholy. Beauty, as if the light it emits grazes your skin to give it the impression of whether it is dead or alive. Feelings of either helplessness or painlessness shrouding the depths of one's heart, something you cannot reach the exit of, though clearly visible. Either way, it's something we're drawn to, an atypical, pale light that stirs up our minds to ponder;
Why?
high...?
Hi?
Hello?
Ate up?
Wake up.
Wake up.
A shrill gasp shot out Hanako's mouth as a faint light embraced him. He found himself lying in a small puddle, what seemed like crystal-clear water.
The person he saw first he recognized immediately, his stoic expression turning into a mischievous one as the corners of his lips turned upward. There was that dumb grin again.
"We need to get out of here."
The boy was the same but, when he looked closer, he saw Kou had an unrelenting expression on his face. Hanako assumed he wasn't alone in the matter.
"What are you so concerned about, boy~? Have I been sleeping for a while?" Moving the upper part of his body, Hanako felt a horrible sensation rise up in his stomach but smiled nevertheless.
"We need to get out of here, and I need to talk to Y/n and senpai." He repeated, with a straight face. The determination in his voice was evident, Hanako could tell. He only let out a small chuckle and tilted his head to the right in amusement, as he looked at the blonde-haired boy.
"No need to rush, we'll find them eventually! I'm sure your...older brother and no.1 will be able to find them. As much as I dislike both of them." The warmth from his smile faded with the mention of Teru.
"Nii-chan...I wonder if he's okay. Was he worried? Was everyone looking for me?" He asked, a distraught look on his face as he felt guilt rise up from the pits of his heart.
The choppy-haired apparition's eyes narrowed, expression sharp before they turned back to normal. There was a grin, once again, on his face as he floated over to Kou. "Don't blame yourself, kid. No.1 and him were looking for you earlier, but they'll be fine," he reassured, though his voice itself felt distant.
Kou couldn't shake off the feeling that Hanako was hiding something again.
On the other hand, Hanako noticed the kid's usual, optimistic and loud disposition was replaced with a gloomier one. He hovered backward and sat on top of a broken pillar and sighed quietly, not able to look at the boy. He was thinking too. They were both busy thinking.
