After Jack and I land at the Anaheim airport, I rent a car for the week. We meet some fans at the airport, sign some stuff. I'm driving to the campsite, going down the highway, looking for adventure, or whatever comes my way. I look over at Jack and can tell he's nervous. I don't know about what, though. He's shaking.
"Hey, Jack, are you okay?" I ask, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He answers, not convincing. We drive a couple more miles, and Jack seems to worsen. He's breathing shallowly, thumbs going at the speed of light on his phone. I peek over and see he's texting somebody with hearts. I make sure nobody's near us, then stop the car.
"Okay, Jack, cut the shit." I say, looking at his surprised face. "I know something's wrong. You can tell me. What's happening?"
"Uhh.." He answers. He stays silent after that.
"Dude." I say. He flinches at that word. "Come on. You're a wreck."
"It's... complicated. There's just somebody I'm gonna see there who, uh, like..." He trails off. Jesus fucking Christ. "I feel weird seeing them. After so long."
"Who?" I ask, trying to force him to open up.
"Felix, you'll just see when we get there, alright?" He answers, frustrated, yet meek.

After a few hours, we make it to the site. It's a flat, desert like area, with civilization less than 5 miles away. It has some trees, but not many. It's somewhere in Nevada. I drive upon four of my favorite losers, sitting around trying to build a fire. Jack was shaking and trying to be silent while shallowly breathing on the way over, but I decided to leave him be. We get out and greet each other one by one. When Jack and Mark see each other, Jack seems to hold onto Mark longer than the others.
Maybe...? Eh, probably just me. We all sit around for a while, telling stories and the like. Mark and Jack sit on a large rock together. Ever since they met, they always seemed to hit it off perfectly. It was kind of like Marzia and I when we met. Eventually, we had to sleep. Mark wandered off to get wood (ehehheh), making sure to stay in sight of the camp. Jack goes with him, "just in case".
