It was a little half past three in the morning, five ghouls were downstairs still awake, the remaining three upstairs resting. The rats ran about anxious even though they weren't unwatched, the winds rattled the windows like they were going to break, the downpour outside a crashing chorus. They had been warned of poor weather, but the ghouls hadn't been warned of how bad as the lights above flickered, nearly going out as thunder crashed outside. Several looks flashed across the table in the common room, a few excited, one of worry.

"Where were we?" Aether asked picking up his cards.

The ghouls looked at their several hands, the winds outside making the lights flicker again, Sunshine scoffed. Mountain drew a card, looked at his hand a moment, then looked at Sodo when he was ready. The fire ghouls leaned forward on his perch to draw a card when the lights flickered and finally gave out, the building swallowed in darkness, the ghouls ears picking up the faint upset squealing from the rats.

"Told you it wouldn't last long" Sunshine laughed shortly, sitting back and tossing her cards onto the table in front of her.

"So...new game?" Swiss suggested.

"Yes!" the fire ghouls mused, "Now is the perfect time for Hunt."

Aether and Sunshine grinned as they appeared reenergized, Mountain even smiled at the games mention and couldn't fault Sodo's perfect timing. Hunt was the ghouls own version on Hide and Seek, with their own hellish twists to it, but the base rules were pretty much the same. Without speaking Sodo raised his index finger to his nose, Mountain caught on quick and followed to mimic the fire ghouls action, the other ghouls in the room competing to not be the last.

"Fuck!" Swiss swore as he was designated the 'hunter'.

"Okay, hold up." Sunshine said before the 'prey' could disperse, "Ground rules? I for one think you shouldn't be allowed to hide behind your locked bedroom door."

"Fair enough." Sodo agreed, "Anything else?"

"Given the weather- no outside." Swiss added.

The group muttered sounds of agreement before the gave Swiss his allotted time to sit in the kitchen with his hands over his ears, they shoved him out before slowly leaving to hide themselves. As Swiss stood in the kitchen facing one wall with his back to the door, ears covered as much as he could, he silently thought to himself that the kitchen was very off putting completely dark and alone.

Mountain left with Aether, but the ghouls parted down separate hallways, to which the earth ghoul was thankful. He didn't walk far, just to the closet chest, making sure it was empty and long enough before tucking his long limbs inside. He pulled a wadded up napkin from one of his pockets and shoved it into the lock's sockets before letting the lid close him inside.

Sunshine waited for all of the masc ghouls to leave before she looked around the room she was in. the windows shook in protest to the wind outside, then she saw the perfect opportunity tucked into the corner. The air ghoul rushed to the corner where Mountain kept his drum kit, carefully squatting behind the stool and hugging her knees close to her chest. Her small body hidden past the kick and toms, but that also meant she couldn't see past them.

The fire ghoul moved quickly, glances back to make sure he wasn't being followed, climbed two stairs at a time, and fled like his life depended on it to his bedroom. The fire ghoul produced a pair of small lock picks from his nightstand, then following the rules exited his bedroom; he let his door click closed softly behind sliding across the hall on his knees to Rain's bedroom door. The lock picks ticked softly as they worked, the black painted door giving in with a gently pop inwards. Sodo pocketed his picks before slinking inside and closing the door with a click. The fire ghoul convinced himself he was a genius.
