I was about to ring a bell when I saw the dick getting out of Sky's window
"Wait here," I said before walking towards the jerk "Hey!" He stopped when he heard my voice
"What are you doing here?!" He seemed more angry than normal
"I could ask the same fucking thing" I pushed his chest to make him back off
"And what does it look like? I was at Skylar's house. What are YOU doing here" he touched my chest with his index
"You're still here?!" I heard someone say from behind.
I turned around and saw Sky's dad coming toward us
"I told you to fucking leave Peter or wasn't I clear?" He seemed angry too
Peter clenched his jaw before leaving
"And who are you?" Sky's dad raised a brow at me
"Nice to meet you sir I'm Sky's classmate. My sister is going to play with your son Mike" I pointed at my sister standing in front of his door
He turned and saw my sister wave with a cute face, he waved back and allowed us to go in
When Avery and Mike walked into his room, Henry offered me a drink in his kitchen
"Weren't you at the gala a few weeks back?" Henry asked and poured me a drink of juice
"Yeah my dad was the douche on the podium" I drank from the glass wishing it was something stronger
"I heard. Sorry for your loss"
"Thanks" I bowed my head
"You talk to Sky?" Henry asked I chuckled
"We can't really get along" I shrugged "Your daughter is different"
"She is. But she's not really my daughter" he said making me look at him confused "Her parents died a few years ago. Me and my wife Lisa are just foster parents, not real ones. We love her like she'd be our tho"
"I didn't know" Why didn't she tell me?
"She doesn't want to talk about it a lot"
"I know how she feels" I nodded "Well" I finished my drink "I'm gonna go. Avery won't be here for long Mike just wanted to see her for a bit" Henry nodded "I take her home before you have dinner"
I walked towards the door "Tom you can stay for dinner if you want. You're way better than the jerk I found Sky with" The thought about the dick is making me angry already
"Um, I'm gonna ask Avery if she wants to" I quickly skipped up the stairs so Henry won't wait for long
I knocked on the door with 'Mike' written on them when I heard come in, I walked in and saw Avery and Mike playing Monopoly
"You two having fun?" I smiled
"Very" Avery grinned
"Mike's dad asked if we want to stay for dinner-"
"Yes!" She shouted before I could finish the sentence
"Fine, alright" I raised my hands in surrender while chuckling "Have fun," I said before leaving the room
"Oh, hey?" I heard someone say. I turned to see an older lady just in a towel. It didn't take me long to look away
"Hey ma'am I'm Tom. My sister is friends with your son" I said feeling uncomfortable
