"um" I cleared my throat after few seconds of silence since Sky left "I should go talk to her if you excuse me" I looked at Lisa for permission. When she nodded with a fake smile, I stood up and walked upstairs into Sky's room

I knocked on her door and walked in

Sky was sitting on the ground leaning against her bed with knees on her chest and red face from tears

I silently sat next to her after closing the door "hey" I whispered. She didn't respond and stared at the wall "wanna keep staring at the wall or rather have some fun?..... I mean it's a pretty interesting wall-" I shrugged before Sky interupted

"You don't have any questions at all?" I looked at her scrunched face

"I know it for a few days already" I pursed my lips

"How?"

"Henry told me the day at the dinner" I sighed

"Oh..."

"Yeah" I whispered "I'm sor-"

"Don't finish that sentence" she cut me off again "I hate when people say that.... 'oh I'm so sorry your mom committed suicide and your daddy overdosed'. It's annoying" she said dryly

"No one has perfect past, Sky. But we have to face it. You have great parents now, be happy for them" I put my hand on her knee

"Yeah, I guess it's better than it was with them" she directed towards her real parents.

I stayed silent and waited if she'll open up about them but she kept her mouth shut

"What did you mean with the fun?" Sky said when I sighed

"Arch texted me before we arrived about the party for the end of autumn break"

"Yes!" Sky shouted "please yes. Take me out" she stood up and helped me on my feet "pleaseee, convince my parents" she pouted

"But what about my sister?" I raised my brows at Sky

"We can walk her home if you wanna. Pleaseeeee" she jumped up and down like a kid wanting an ice cream

I don't want my sister alone with my father

"Why?" Sky tilted her head

Shit I said that out loud "oh um, and what about she'll sleep over in here? Do you think your parents would mind?"

"Not at all. Mom loves having visitors. Go convicte them please, I don't want to face Henry right now" I looked down at Sky

"Fine. Suit up lady, I'll deal with the rest" Sky gave me a pack on my lips before I could blink. Her lips were as soft as always

"Go" she smiled while bitting her lip. Something told me to stay and kiss her again but I know she needs to go to that party to get her mind off things

As I was walking down the stairs, I wipe Sky's red lip balm off my lips in case someone would notice

Everyone was quiet when I got back into the dining room. They all looked at me when I walked through the door

"Um, Sky needs to get her mind off of some things" I said knowing very well they know what I'm talking about "the friends we were at the beach house with are having a party but I have nowhere to put Avery to-"

"Don't worry about it. She can stay here tonight. Just take care of my daughter, son" Henry said taking me off guard. I expected him to complain at least a little bit
