Three years before you proudly raise your limbs to hoist your first sail...
(Bang!!!)
A thunderous explosion detonated, shaking the very bed you had comfortably slept in.
The sounds of crewmates screaming into each other's ear whilst the raindrops mercilessly beats onto their skin.
A lightning strike from the clouds that forces you awake into jumping out of your sheets. You hold your aching head seeing the blurred silhouettes of everyone running across the window.
Your heart jumpstarting into immediate panic. You raise your sluggish body and sprint over to the door before pulling it open to see towering ships swarming all around the craft you stood in.
Beaming lights not only stemming from the lighting above but also cannon fire that's honing in toward the edges of your ship.
You scramble to your side, just narrowly avoiding the shell that wrecked the entire room you just slept in.
The wind whistling into your ears as your clothes writhe, gasping for air to grasp the intensity of the situation.
You crawl over to the highest point of the ship, being met with a haunting view of Marine Ships shooting down the ship. To your side, Pirate Ships accompanying yours to try and fend of the Marines.
After a moment of recovery your ears gradually pick up each blaring noise that overlap the sounds of your own breathing, forcing you to cover your sides to lessen the pain that threatens to pierce through your eardrums.
(You had stood on a ship belonging to your uncle, who had built a decent reputation during his journeys...)
He valued your smile, your way of entertaining him when he had moments of unhappiness. Always inviting you to go cruising with him alongside his wife whenever he could.
The thought of him immediately resurfacing into your head, scrambling for him was your immediate response
Not a single turn, shift, or pull earned you luck, with barely any hint of his presence in the ship.
