Enough for me

The slit on the curtain flaps away exposing the sun right into my face. It keeps on shadowing my fully shut eyes. The burning sensation hits my cheeks. It's morning and I need to get up. I groan and turn but can't move. My hand feels numb and stuck. I move my fingers and they press on her back. She moans and shifts her face up my chest.

It's my wife. That's her name from today onwards. My Wife.

She fixes her head until she comfortably lays on my rising chest from uncontrollable breathing. I reach for my glasses on the counter. I pick my head up making sure I do not wake her up in the process. To vain though cause she is starring right at me.

"Hi". I say and chuckle.

She closes her eyes again and sniffs passionately on my shirt I slept on.

"Good morning". She responds.

"Oh God. What time is it?". She uprutly wakes up messing her hair in the process. She looks side ways looking for what I assume is a clock but there is none in here. We recently moved in. There's a lot we still need to purchase.

"Anuj..." She restlessly breath seated on her bum with legs raised. "What time is it?". She asks again.

I reach for my phone, thankful for not leaving it downstairs during out little pep romance.

"It's 07:30 darling".

She gasps and covers her mouth.

"Let me...". She quickly runs for the bathroom. Literally 10 minutes later she has wrapped her wet hair in the white towel with her blue saree loosely drapped on her waist. She wipes her hair in front of the mirror. I let go of the bedding I was folding up. She is restlessly combing through her undried hair in a hurry.

I hold her arm retrieving her hands from the comb and hair. She looks back at me with her innocent worry.

"Anu. Relax".

"But I need to get downstairs as in an hour ago and prepare food for you and GK. I need to clean the house. Remember the dishes we did not wash yesterday? I also need to..."

"Bath your husband. You also need to wash these walls". Pointing my eyes on our bedroom walls. "You also need to drive me to work. Wash my feet. Massage me every single day. Oh and don't forget to climb Mouth Everest"

She laughs.

"Anu. You don't need to rush almost breaking your legs to get these duties done. You'll have a heart attack".

"Are you done?"

"No I'm not". She pays no heed and continues making her point across.

"If I have to I'll climb any mountain for you and it's not because I want to slave away. It's tradition and it's duties every bride carries when she arrives at her new house. It's appreciation and a responsibility I want to take up. You do not need to feel as if I am burdening myself. It's only the right thing to do"

"But there's only GK and I. Probably GK is in the temple right now"

"Exactly. I should have woken up before him and prepared breakfast for him and you"

"Well let's do it together then since we are both ready".

"No you are not. You haven't taken a bath. Change your clothes too".

"You also haven't finished dressing".

"What do you mean? I'm fully dressed".

I take a step closer to her. She gives me that doubtful smirk, the what-are-you-up-to-now-Anuj type of look. She smiles and presses both her hands on my biceps. I press on her saree with my fingers deep on her abdomen. I fix her loose saree by rolling it in her front. She gasps as soon as my fingers deepen down. My eyes lock with hers. She does not blink rather she tightens her hands around my arms her lips continuously gasping.
