The caretaker quickens with the baby's cradle. She places it in the house, hurries back for the baby's bag. We place everything down. Malvika is busy on her phone and...she arrived alone. Anupama is with the caretaker and Maansi in her hands. There are 5 rooms, a living room, 2 kitchens.

"Anu please get into the house. It's about to rain". She obliges, gets in while the driver and I offload the luggages.

"This is beautiful Anuj". Anupama devours the scenery, marble ornaments, wood claned furniture from walls to floors and the roof. It's cosy. With snow outside what could anyone ask for?

"Anupama..." Malvika approaches them in the living room.

"Let me excuse you ladies. I need to be somewhere".

Anuj leaves the room.

"Akshay is stuck on the highway, apparently an avalanche hit the road and now cars are parked at the local town. I think he might sleep there."

"Akshay? I thought he was not coming"

"Don't be my brother, please. Only he'll scold and question me as if i'm a baby but you... you can let me be myself instead of saying Malvi do this Malvi don't do that".

"Okay fine. Tell me then...".

"About?"

"Come sit and tell me about this guy".

"Anuuu...there's really nothing to tell".

"So he is just a decorated boyfriend? Nothing special?"

"Something like that". She huffs. "I don't want to talk about it. Can I please play with Maansi instead. Hello my little paperbag! Why have you dressed her like this? She looks like a wrapped up shawarma don't you think?"

Anu could only laugh.

"Seriously?"

...

The fire crackled, there sat Anuj caressing Anu's hair who has found a safe spot under his arm to rest her head. Maansi is long asleep in the room. Anuj sips on his black tea, his eyes refusing him sleep. There isn't much to exercise them on yet sleep just can't find its way to him. Anupama suffered the same dilemma but as husband and wife nothing could be romantic, chord striking and meant to be than this serenity, admiring the circumstance without much as longingly narrating it to each other cause feelings are never fully understood unless we thoroughly confess them to the other person. But they know they love each other. Life and its lessons has taught it to them. But love is never enough to satisfy the burning edge to feeling hers or his body in your hands. Anuj on understanding this moved away sitting Anu back to the sofa. She, in her state of rest thought of him to be going somewhere, maybe put his mug in the kitchen sink or turn on the tv but he went straight for her heavily seated body. He carried her in his arms to their bedroom. Anu smiled and held on tight to his neck.

"I won't let go". He assured. Despite, Anu couldn't help it. He put her down to the sheets, sat her up straight, so did he next to her. In the darkness of the room their eyes couldn't leave each other. They both breathed closer and closer to one another until their mouths and tongue intertwined. He rested his hands on her thighs, brushing it up to her neck and held on tight. She pinned his back on the bed, held together her hair into a back bun. With lust in his eyes nothing could assure Anupama of the need and hell Anuj must be fighting just to have her in his arms and body.
