CHAPTER TWO
I Have A Confession, Of A Side That I HideShe didn't think her mother would notice she was gone, besides, it was a friday night... it wasn't like she had to go to school, and her mom was at work. But the world hated Evelyn Doyle, because for some mysterious reason, Lisa was home, in Eve's room, waiting for her to come home. Eve had her back to her bed, of which Lisa was sitting on. And of course, Eve had chosen to use her powers to teleport into her room.
"What the fuck?" Eve's eyes widened when she heard her mother greet her.
Turning around slowly, she awaited the wrath of her mom, who had her arms on her hips. Eve's eyes darted from everywhere across the room to avoid turning into ash. "When were you planning on telling me that you got your powers?"
Eve furrowed her brows when she met her mother's gaze. "Why do you sound like you knew I'd have powers?" Eve questioned, crossing her arms.
Lisa sighed, motioning for Eve to sit on the bed and listen intently to what she'd say. "When I was thirteen, I found out that I could travel through light portals, sun portals if you want to call them. A lot of generations have passed that the people in our family can teleport, some teleport using certain elements, others just teleport. I know I should have told you, but you would have been anxiously waiting and it would still feel like a surprise—"
"Did... dad... know?" It felt weird, saying the word dad. He died, and Eve had never once seen a photo of him, so it was like mentioning air that was never in the same space as her.
"Yes. He didn't have powers exactly. But he was creative as hell, somehow he managed to survive everything thrown at him, like despite his best efforts, he refused to die."
"Except he did. He managed to die, break the routine." Eve responded.
Lisa motioned for Eve to follow her into the hallway. Lisa grabbed one of the cardboard boxes labelled 'explosives', making Eve look her mom up and down.
"They're not actual explosives. It just kept people away from going through it. Had to hide it from you, 'cause you'd probably like it. It's some of the clothes I wore when I was a vigilante or anti-hero, hero, whatever you wanna call it. And this," Lisa took out the slightly washed out black leather jacket, "this was your dad's. The patches managed to stay on after all these years. And you deserve to have a piece of your dad with you." Lisa told her.
Eve ran her fingers over the patches. "This was my old mask, but I don't think it'll suit your entire persona." Lisa handed her the white mask.
"Can I paint it black?" Lisa nodded.
"Here's the rules: no space travelling, no universe jumping, no fighting major villains or bad guys, and do your best to stay as safe as your reckless ass can. Okay?"
"Universe and space travelling?" Eve wondered.
"Don't ask." Eve didn't.
Eve went to her room alone, taking out the collection of paint spray cans she had, and grabbed the black one. She opened her window so she wouldn't fully inhale it, of course she breathed it in a bit, leading to a few coughs, but she did her best to have it away from her face. The previously white mask molded into a black mask. She let it dry, then she went to her closet.
Eve replaced the place in her closet that filled the spot of her old leather jacket with her dad's. She put on her normal leather jacket, changed into her black jeans, her black combat boots, and checked that the mask was dry. It was. It still smelled like shit, but not as bad as before.

Eve sat on top of a building, looking out to see the local bank. That's when she noticed the shadowy figures sneaking into it. She let out a scoff before silently sneaking behind them into the bank. They all turned around in shock to see someone behind them.
"Are you guys secret agents or something stopping a bank robbery? 'Cause those masks don't help." Eve mused.
She dodged the very few punches they threw at her, most of which were extremely weak punches. She managed to throw a few punches herself to confuse them, then she sent them through a shadow portal to the police station in Queens. She wiped her hands together, then fled the scene just in case.
Eve just throwing bank robbers into a portal to the police station is top tier vigilante work right there.
Once again, she is >>>
Okay, bye!
