For generations, the Bloodstones dealt with monsters one way: Brutally, and without an opportunity for dialogue

Elsa herself practiced this method too, but she had learned that sometimes, these monsters could be negotiated with

Getting them to listen, however, was something else entirely

"If you would just LISTEN!"

She narrowly avoided a lethal swing of an axe by hiding behind a rock, only for it to be crushed with rusted chains wrapped around it

Elsa jumped back to avoid being hit with the axe but ended up being struck with the other arm and knocked to the ground

As soon as she did, a rotting boot was slammed on her throat. Lightning struck as the struggling Elsa looked up at the monstrous mash of vegetable matter and rotten meat that glared down at her with ravenous hatred and glowing eyes

It was at this moment that she was cursing herself to death for not grabbing her weapons before this

But his crushing hold would not last long, as the Bloodgem in her choker let out a powerful blast that blew a chunk of his leg off and forced him to drop the axe

The woman pushed the ragged man back while she coughed. With one hand, she rubbed her throat in an attempt to ease the pain

Elsa: Julian... fucking listen...

But that's when the plant matter grew a new leg for the corpse, and brought him back up, only to find Elsa gesturing for him to stop

Elsa: I know what happened to your mother! Just hear me out!

The hulking creature stopped his assault at the mention of this. Instead, low growls could be heard, and his stare grew softer

This reaction was indicator enough that she was on the right track with this

Elsa: She was buried here! I just need to find her and you'll get your rest! I promise

"ₛₕₑ'ₛ ₗyᵢₙg"

A faint red smoke snaked its way behind him, and with it, the same voice. The one confined to his head

"ₛₕₑ'ₗₗ bₑₜᵣₐy yₒᵤ"

The monster hunter just tilted her head, seeing as the ragged man was irresponsive

Elsa: I can prove it to you. Just give me a chance

" ₛₕₑ'ₗₗ dₑₛₜᵣₒy yₒᵤ"

The faint sensation of a hand could be felt in his shoulder, while Elda took notice of the slowly increasing red fog

Elsa: What's this...?

"ₛₕₑ wₐₙₜₛ ₜₒ ₖₑₑₚ ᵤₛ ₐₚₐᵣₜ. ₐᵣₑ yₒᵤ gₒᵢₙg ₜₒ ₐₗₗₒw ₜₕₐₜ?"

It took her only a moment to realize there was something else at play here. Something sinister

She took out the amulet and her eyes went wide when it didn't point at Julian, but rather...at the fog itself

Elsa: Wait, don't listen to it!

But it was too late. Black tears were running from the undead man's eye as he got lost in the voice

"Wᵢₗₗ yₒᵤ ₗₑₜ ₜₕᵢₛ wₒₘₐₙ ₜₐₖₑ ₘₒₘₘy ₐwₐy?"

A lethal fist clenched as the rage boiled once again. The woman took notice of this and met his eyes, finding the same glow from before
