Frank Castle was no stranger to death

He fought a war for his government, and he caused plenty of death, but he had also seen his comrades die

It was never easy, but it was the nature of conflict. Some would call it hell, and it might as well be

But it was nothing compared to what awaited him back home

Frank fought through everything, wanting to see his family again, to take them to the park and laugh the day away, but instead, he came home to the pouring rain and the news that his kid had jumped out the window

The reason?

An exorcism gone wrong, previous mental issues, a psychotic outburst

Bullshit

Then the priest responsible for this had the balls to show up at the funeral. Frank could have sworn he was this close to doing something to him if he hadn't been taken away by someone else

Once the shock wore off, the rage became dormant, and all he was left with was grief and a broken home, with no idea how to repair it

It was then, not even a month after the death of his son that another member of his squad reached out to him in desperate help

"They took my daughter, Frank, I don't know what to do"

He could still hear Rumlow's crying voice over the phone. It was like listening to Maria's grief all over again

But this time, he was here, he was home, and if the police wouldn't do anything about this, then he would

So he took an oath

"Never again"

- August 21st, 2020-

Under the cover of the night, a van drove across the streets of the city. The pouring rain was much the same as it was back when Frank had to bury his son, a grim reminder of why he was here right now

"Frank? You with us?"

He looked away from the window to find his fellow soldiers in the van. Those closest to Rumlow, and those who were willing to help him get his daughter back, by any means necessary

They weren't here as marines, they were here as people who had just been fucked with by the lowest kind of scum in this city

They had managed to locate the building where the scum was keeping her. They were expecting 2 million, not them

It wasn't long before the van came to a stop. The driver exhaled before he turned to the rest of them

???: We're here. Load up, boys

Frank peeked at the building in question. It was a rundown place, but more so than that, there was nobody around, no signs of anyone

Rumlow handed everyone their gear. Vest, night vision goggles, rifles, radios, and black face masks. As they linked the channels, Frank spoke

Castle: Remember. We can't let word of this get out to anyone, so be careful, be precise, and most importantly...

He loaded his rifle

Castle: Don't let any of these sons of bitches alive

With reinforced determination, everyone put on their masks, and prepared themselves

Rumlow: Let's go

With that, he slid the door open and everyone left the vehicle, sneaking their way into the building. The rain worked in their favor, masking their steps and entry until they ditched the noisy outside for the eerily quiet place
