England. . .

In a dark warehouse, a demon feasted. It devoured its prey, some poor tourists. Its fangs sank into their flesh while its massive claws held the bodies in place

The beast was unaware of the figures that entered this place, which reeked of death, blood, and rotten meat

Magik: Oh, God

It looked up at the sound of her voice. It turned around to find Illyana and you standing there, you had your rifle out while she had her Soulsword in hand

You: You're one ugly motherfucker, ain't ya?

The demon let out a roar before it charged towards you, only to receive a bullet to the shoulder

This sudden pain forced the beast to stumble back, but then Illyana lunged at it, swinging the sword. The beast raised an arm to try and guard itself, but the sword slashed through the arm before it was thrusted into its chest

A shriek echoed through the warehouse as a result, and Illyana retrieved her sword as the beast fell to the floor, dead

You took out a small stone with a rune carved into it and clenched your fist, making light emerge from it akin to a flashlight

Magik: Yeah this is a nest if I've ever seen one

You looked around at the small piles of bodies, you were taken back by the amount of them

You: Something's not right. They're too many to be just for one creature

The blonde walked over to you and nodded

Magik: You think it has a family?

You: More like an entire neighborhood. Just look at the size of that pile

You stepped away and continued to look around the area. Magik stated at the bodies with a hand on her chin

She looked at the pile, with some of the bodies looking less than a week old. It was then that something crossed her mind

Magik: Wait, what if it was storing food for its pack?

You stopped in your tracks and turned back to her

You: If that's the case. The passage should be around here somewhere

Illyana nodded and the search for this passage began. This place didn't look like a nest, but more like a storage area for food, and if that was the case, there had to be a way to connect to the main nest

Something you had learned over the years, was that for a real hunter, there was always a trail to follow. There was always something that gave it away, and when you felt an air current through what was supposed to be a wall, you knew you did

Your hand glowed f/c as you slowly pointed at the wall. The illusion dissapeared shortly after and in turn, revealed the entrance to a crudely-made tunnel

You leaned back and whistled, making your friend approach the room and come face to face with this

Magik: Called it!

A chuckle left your lips before you entered this tunnel together. You touched the side of your head and closed your eyes. You tried to reach Jack through the limited telepathic link one of your runes offered

"Jack, zero in on my location. We got a colony"
