In the abandoned buildings, screams became all the more apparent

Especially when they didn't belong to anything human

Brock Rumlow, a member of the United States Marine Corps, a man as tough as they get, was now on the cold concrete floor as he tried his best to defend himself against the shrieking attacker

A beast beyond human frantically clawed down at him, shredding the vest that was supposed to save him from bullets. To make things worse, he could hear loud and clear the desperate cries of his daughter

Fortunately for him, this would not be where his life ended

A blade suddenly pierced the chest of the monster, forcing its onslaught to come to a stop when it was pulled back with brutal force

Holding that weapon, was you

Rumlow quickly got up to witness you slash the creature into nothingness and set it ablaze. Noticing he was staring at you, you spoke

You: Can you walk?

Rumlow: Y-Yeah...

The marine could only stare at you as he tried to piece together who you were, or what for that matter, but you'd get interrupted by another voice

???: GET AWAY FROM HIM

Everyone turned to find another marine, Frank Castle, aiming at you as he made his way onto the first floor with you all. However, your attention was not on the man, but rather, the creatures quickly closing the distance with him

You: Get down

You commanded, and the moment he did, you whipped the monsters with your chained blade. It dug into the skin of one of them and you hurled it towards you, then you slammed your boot on it and finished it off with a swift slice

Given your sudden appearance, it came as no surprise that all eyes were on you while you worked, but it was hardly the time for an audience, so you pointed your bloodstained weapon at the door

You: Out of here. Right now

Frank quickly rushed to get his friend up and threw his hand over his shoulders while Rumlow held his bleeding stomach

The unholy roar of these beings could be heard, shifting your attention back to the horde, you took out a rune stone from your coat and sprayed the floor with fire. This would be enough to slow them down

That's when you noticed the others quickly getting into a vehicle outside. You took out your rifle as you stepped out to see why they were still there when one of them spoke

Frank: Just what the fuck was that?

You: Demons. Possessed

While it might be something ordinary for you, it was clear this was not the case for them, and Frank's reaction gave it away

But more so than that, he reacted with anger and exasperation. As if he had heard this before

With this same exasperation, the man switched his glare between the building and you, shaking his head as he did

Frank: Oh don't come to me with that religious bullshit! That Murdock priest said the same shit!

Hardly phased by this, you turned your attention back to your weapon

You: Listen, I don't give a crap whether you believe or not, it doesn't change the fact that your squad got slaughtered by demons

Frank's eyes went wide with rage, but you didn't see it, nor care for it. Instead, what caught your attention was the growling of his wounded comrade still in the van
