EIGHT MONTHS LATERIT HAD BEEN eight months since Rhaella had left King's Landing for Winterfell. It had been eight months since she married Cregan Stark. It had been eight months since she left her sweet boys.
Each day that passed, Rhaella found herself thinking of both Lucerys and Jacaerys, wondering if the two missed her half as much as she missed them.
Rhaella did not realize how much she depended on her sister and nephews until she left Dragonstone.
The three showed Rhaella unconditional love, one that she did not receive from her own mother.
Despite missing the three she considered family, she knew that it was crucial for her to leave what she once called home.
She never would have escaped King's Landing if it were not for her husband, Cregan.
Since the moment she had arrived in Winterfell, she was immediately greeted by the people of the North and was welcomed with open arms.
The kind gesture was one she had not received in King's Landing and it brought a genuine smile to her face.
Along with being welcomed, Cregan allowed for Rhaella to sit with him as the people of the North spoke their worries to the two, the Lord often encouraging Rhaella to say what she thought would benefit them.
Winterfell was a much different environment from King's Landing and if Rhaella was being honest, she never wanted to return home.
Winterfell was her new home and she never wanted to leave. The snow that fell around Winterfell brought a newfound joy to Rhaella that neither Cregan or Marjorie had seen from the Princess.
She'd often run outside and play in the snow as soft giggles escaped past her lips and Cregan would watch with admiration.
It was as if Rhaella's younger self was being healed by the childish act of playing in the snow. Something that Rhaella was deprived from as a child. Joy.
As time passed, Rhaella grew accustomed to Winterfell and was now taking the role Lady of Winterfell more seriously.
She did not go by Princess Rhaella anymore. She refused to be referred to as Princess Rhaella because it reminded her too much of her childhood and how much she was mistreated.
Being referred to as Lady Stark or Lady Rhaella made the girl happy. She was no longer tied to her mother. She was her own person.
"Rhaella, I have been searching the entire castle for you!" Marjorie sighed as she finally found Rhaella.
"I'm sorry, Mars. I was just admiring the snow as usual." Rhaella remarked as she turned to face her sister.
"My brother wishes to see you." Marjorie informed the girl as Rhaella approached her.
