SINCE THE RETURN of Rhaella Targaryen, she had been unconscious, the maesters concluding it was due to the injuries she suffered at Rooks Rest.

Maesters were unsure if the Princess would ever wake again due to the severity of her injuries.

She had suffered grave gashes from Aegon and had lost quite a lot of blood deemed fatal by the maesters.

But what confused the maesters most were the burn marks on Rhaella's gown.

Her gown was almost all scorched but her skin was unharmed.

The damage to her gown alone would have resulted in Rhaella suffering the same fate as Princess Rhaenys but Rhaella was left unharmed by the flames of the dragon.

The maesters, bewildered by Rhaella being unharmed by the flames, gave her the nickname Rhaella the unburnt.

When Rhaenyra had first visited her sister, she was informed of her sisters condition and all she could do was cry.

Rhaenyra blamed herself for the severity of her sisters injuries, claiming she should have never allowed Rhaella to leave Dragonstone.

This was a sign that her children would not be safe if they remained in Dragonstone while war waged on between her and Aegon for the Iron throne.

She needed to send them away like Rhaella had done for Nyra and Luke.

"How is she, maester?" Rhaenyra asked as she held Rhaella's hand in hers while Luke sat on the other side and held her hand close to his cheek.

"She remains unconscious but her health is declining, My Queen. The princess is suffering an infection from her wounds and we are doing the best that we can to heal it before it worsens. If she does not heal, she will be dead in three days time." The maester stated sadly.

"Thank you, Maester." Rhaenyra forced a smile before the maester left the room.

"Has Jaecerys sent word to Lord Stark?" Rhaenyra asked as she glanced towards her son.

"He has but I am not sure if Lord Cregan and Prince Daemon still reside at Harrenhal." Luke stated as he kept his eyes on Rhaella.

"This is all my fault. I should not have allowed her to leave Dragonstone." Rhaenyra frowned as tears brimmed her eyes.

"You could not have known this would happen, mother. Rhaella would not have stayed here when our ally needed our aide." Luke reassured his mother as he reached for her hand.

Foot steps were heard before Jace and Cregan had appeared in the doorway, glancing at Rhaella's unconscious body with sorrowful frowns on their faces.

"My love." Cregan whispered sadly as he rushed to his wife's side.

"What happened?" Cregan asked as he intertwined his hand with Rhaella's.
