Part 12

Lily pov

After Jordan and Phoebe left for school, Winnie came up running with a scared look all over her face.

Lily - "Is something wrong, Winnie?"

Winnie - "I think I might know what's wrong with Hadley"

I arched my brow, silently telling her to carry on. She opened her mouth but before she could say anything, she was interrupted by Hadley running to the bathroom and throwing up. I ran after her, with Winnie following. I gently rubbed her back as she continued to throw up.

Winnie - "Just think about it. Throwing up, eating fast, craving lemons. She's-"

Lily - "Pregnant"

I finished for her.

Hadley - "No, no. I'm on birth control"

Winnie - "Honey, birth control isn't always effective. So, if you weren't on the pill, do you think that you might be pregnant?"

Hadley - (tears) "No I can't be. He's gonna hate me"

Winnie was about to say something else, when she got a text message on her phone.

Winnie - "Shit, I have to go now or I'll be late"

I nodded at her and she quickly left.

Lily - "Sweetheart, who's gonna hate you?"

She was about to say something but then started crying.

Lily - "Why don't you freshen up and get changed. I'm gonna call Gabriel and tell him that you're sick. Okay?"

Hadley - "But this week is rehearsals for the finale. I can't miss today"

Lily - "Yes, you can and you will. They'll understand"

I took out my phone and dialled Gabriel.

Gabriel - "Hey, Lily. I was just about to call you. Is Hadley on her way?"

Lily - "Actually, um, she won't be able to make it today"

Gabriel - "What? Why? Is everything okay?"

Lily - "She's really sick. She just threw up. I just wanted to call and let you know"

Gabriel - "Oh my. Well, today is just table read, so tell her to read over the script a few times and she should be fine"

Lily - "Thank you so much, Gabriel"

Gabriel - "Of course. I hope she feels better soon. Tell her we send our love"

Lily - "I will. Bye"

I ended the call and looked back at Hadley. She was in one of Jordan's hoodie and sweatpants, which were way too big for her.

Lily - "Sweetie..."

Hadley - (softly) "I'm sorry, Mom. I didn't mean for this to happen"

Lily - "It's okay, honey. I have to ask, though; is the baby Blake's?"

Hadley - (shakes head) "No"

Lily - "Well, then, who is it?"

Hadley - "I... he's gonna hate me"

Lily - "Honey, he's not gonna hate you. And if he does, then he's a complete asshole who doesn't deserve you"

Hadley - "Thank you, Mom"

Lily - "Do you wanna go get some pregnancy tests?"

Hadley - "People will recognize me. We'll just go to a doctors appointment. But... is a test really necessary at this point?"

Lily - "It does seem like you are pregnant. Honey, please tell me who the father is"

Hadley - " If I tell you, please promise that you won't get mad at me. Or him"

Lily - "I promise"

Hadley - "It's... Jordan"

Lily - "What? When? Where? How?- Wait, don't answer that last one"

She chuckled softly and I smiled.

Hadley - "I'm not sure when exactly it happened, but within the last few weeks. And... you really want me to tell you where?"

Lily - "It's best you don't. So then that means; it wasn't just a one time thing?"

Hadley - "Um... no, not exactly.

Lily - "Please explain. You know what? Never mind. I do not need to hear about my daughters sex life"

She laughed softly.

Lily - "Wow... so you're pregnant with Jordan's baby"

Hadley - (nods) "I am"

Lily - "Do you know what you wanna do? Are you gonna keep it?"

Hadley - "I'm not sure yet. I want to talk to him first"

Lily - "Okay, then. Why don't we just chill for the rest of the day? A mother daughter day. We can just eat junk food and watch movies"

Hadley - (smiles) "Yeah. That sounds good"

And we did just that. We spent the rest of the time just relaxing. We watched some chick flicks, where Hadley's hormones were totally acting up during the sad scenes. When it was about 2:40, I called Phoebe.

Phoebe - "Hello?"

Lily - "Phoebe! Is Jordan with you as well?"

Jordan - "I'm here"

Lily - "Ok. Get home as quickly as possible"

Phoebe - "Is everything okay, Lily?"

Lily - "Something happened with Hadley"

Jordan - "What? Is she okay? What happened?"

I thought about how to answer that.

Lily - (sighs) "Well... just try to get home as soon as you can. Hadley can explain herself when you guys get here"

Phoebe - "We're on the way"

They hung up and when I looked over at Hadley, she was fast asleep. I then remembered that she hadn't eaten a proper meal yet, so I made her a sandwich and gently shook her awake.

Hadley - (mumbles) "Mom?"

Lily - "You have to eat something, sweetheart"

She nodded and slowly sat up with the blanket around her legs. While she was eating, Phoebe and Jordan got home and took off their shoes and stuff.

Phoebe - "Is everything... okay?"

Hadley - "Yeah. Yeah, everything's fine. What about you guys? How was your day?"

Phoebe and Jordan looked at each other and immediately knew that something was up.

Jordan - "Our day was good. What did you two do today?"

Hadley - "Not much, we were just watching some tv"

She took another bite of her sandwich and wouldn't look either of them in the eye.

Lily - "Hads, honey, why don't you-"

Hadley - "Ok, you know what? Jordan, let's go upstairs. I have to tell you something"

Jordan - (confused) "Okay. Sure"

They both went upstairs together and I sighed.
